    Lg 37lg30

The first 2 pics are what I saw after turning on tv. Second pic shows it affects menu/input also.
There is also slight crackeling static and squeeling/whistling sound from speakers but audio is still there.
I reset(eeprom) main board(upper right on main board) and picture and menu came back(pic3).
Picture and menu work good until I change input on side of tv and it makes a pop sound through speakers and reverts back to what you see in pic 1 and 2. Sometimes I loose audio when picture is messed up but not always.
    Power supply voltages are fine.
This tv seems to be known for main board failure So I think I will start looking for a replacement unless someone can help fix this one or suggest what to test.

    Hi

The amount of main boards I have put in LG's is a joke, which main is it part number etc,

I am not sure if it will work on your model but have you tried the firmware reset hack

    1. Open Menu
    2. Highlight Options..DO NOT press OK
    3. Press 9 on the keypad 7 times

You will get a message on the screen just leave the TV to do what it wants and it should revert to how it came out the box, it will shut down and restart

Like I say it may not work on your model, but its worth ago

If you can give the part number there a couple of mods out there for some of the main boards a bit tricky but fixes some issues

I think this is the correct board.
      Main board#- 37LG30-UD.BUSQLJM

I dont have an original remote for this tv so I will program one and try your suggestion.

Update- Nothing happens when I press '9' seven times.

No this is one of the boards that I havent seen any modifications for. Someone else may have

The board number is EAX424991, it is used by the looks of things in the 26inch upto the 42inch, so you should be ok getting it, but with LG and how they go through main boards people put a premium on them, I had a 42lg7000 that got hit by a power cut and the cheapest main I could get was £120 about $200 of your money...not good

I wasnt sure if it would work or not, also going back to your board if you are looking about for one, I did mention they span from 26-42inch, just be careful of the barcode try and match them up, I have put a few 32" boards in 37" with no problems, dont know if I would risk lets say a 26inch board into a 42.

I was going to put that # in post but shopjimmy video said not to go by that number. This is a 37inch but jimmy is out of stock. I will have to try to find one elsewhere but first I will try to locate a hack that might work.

The tv makes a pop sound through speakers everytime it is turned on. Even when pic is good.
If it cost me over $100 to fix I will just save it for the other parts.

              Update-
              Main board reset
              Power on- speakers pop.
Picture and menu are fine, audio works but has static/whistling.

When I change input control the speakers pop and picture/menu go bad.
If I change input back or turn tv off and on it is still bad.

All inputs work only after selecting input then reseting main board.

I found a few that may work for around $100 US. But will keep looking.
I would love to find a fix for this but I don't think it will be that easy.

I want to save as much $$ as I can while getting the correct part the first time. Iam seeing many different boards that may work. Noone seems to list the barcode. The link below shows several. The very first one should work(but out of stock), but would one of the cheaper ones also work?

I cant find a single barcode# to match mine.

If someone has time I need help making sure I find one that is a good replacement. Im just worried about the barcode. Or is model(26-42lg30) and EAX42499101 enough.

If the panels are the same series (e.g. both AUO, both LG etc) they will likely work.

I dont think the barcode # I listed is correct. It looks like the # is cut off the top of barcode sticker(makes it harder to find replacement).
Iam still contacting people/searching for the correct board but so far it is out of stock or the wrong part. Everyone seems to list these boards with only P/N(37LG30) and board#:EAX42499101 like in this link:http://www.ebay.com/itm/370751172507...84.m1423.l2649
I am still waiting to hear from them about compatibility. I think there closed today, noone answered the phone.
Can anyone here confirm this board will work with the info given?

This is part of the problem Iam having. Noone lists what panel the board came from when they are selling.

If it was me and the board was the same part number and all the connections are correct...taking more importance to the tcon connection/ribbon (they move them about/change them panel dependent) then I would buy the board, if it doesnt work send it back for a refund, one of your links states they accept 14 day returns.

I dont think I have every ordered a 'LG main' before with the same part number/connections and it didnt work...the only thing you do notice is when you go into the service menu options it has a different model number...defo no love lost there :o)

I got the main board today and it is defective. The trace under a capacitor for audio is lifted and torn a bit(see pic). When I pushed down on cap sound worked fine.
Should I attempt repair or send it back? return shipping I must pay.
If I repair it what should I glue trace down with?

                              How much was the board?
Contact the seller and ask for a partial refund at the very least.
You can solder a wire to that nearby component to repair the damage.

That is what i was thinking. I paid $80.95.
If I repair it do you suggest cutting off the lifted trace or just adding a wire on top of it?
I plan on useing a wire lead from a good capacitor for wire.
I made a few notes on picture.

That component surrounded by caps was burnt up on original board. So I have to decide to repair new board trace(easiest and more reliable) or change burnt component on old board and hope it works.

Do I need to repair it like this? see pics.
                                  or
just a short lead to cap?
the circuit continues through those pinholes to other side but it seems to end there.
there is continuity between spots in yellow on pics.

You need to scrape the green soldermask off near the lefthand pin and solder one cap lead there.

Repair the break in the other trace (use similar method) and connect the cap to the join.

Audio sounds fine, but it does not go loud.
At full volume it is a little louder than typical listening volume.
