Ok guys, I spoke too soon! The set is working but after attaching a better signal, I am getting bad scan lines. I tried reseating all the buffer board ribbons and it helped some, but I still have at least 9 horizontal blank scan lines and two wider white bars.. The picture here is an ad with a uniform white background (not gray). I also have the dreaded vertical rose / pink line in the exact center that extends almost the entire height of the screen..

This image is not the full 1080p height so on a full image the pink line drops about 2 inches from the top center.

Help!! I need to sell the sucker but can't until it's fixed.. Thanks Guys!!

The vertical line may be a bad plasma panel.

However, the horizontal lines are a cable problem. All you need to do is reseat them. (WITH POWER OFF.) It's extremely difficult to get it "just right", but it is possible.

Wow, not what i wanted to hear on the red line!! Could this be caused by anything else? just hoping! JS

Usually it's the panel sadly :/ The ICs that drive it can become defective, but they are bonded to the panel and are not replaceable. This is why I always ask the seller if they saw any lines before it failed... (most are honest.)

Old thread, I know. But here goes:
My TX-P50V10 started shutting down giving off a seven blink code after haveng been powered on for about 30 mins.
So I got a new used pair of SU/SD off eBay - allegedly from a set with a cracked screen.
However, after I installed them and powered the set on, it powered off right away.
I found a short circuit between GND and 5V_F_B (Vout of IC725) on the SC board. Turned out to be a shorted out inverter (IC564). After replacing it, I'm able to run the set without the SU/SD (buffer) boards connected (with SC50 shorted), but not with the SU/SD boards connected. It runs very noisy. I don't dare connect the buffer boards, I got from eBay as it seems they made the problem worse.

My question is: Has anybody had the same symptom? TV shutting down (with the seven blinks) after running for a while... If so, what turned out to be the problem?
Also: Can a worn/damaged buffer board damage the SC board? (I assume the opposite is possible).

I measured all voltages on the SC board Vset was off by 4 V, which I corrected.
All voltages measure fine now, and none of the power transistors/diodes are shorted.
My suspicion is that the error is caused by a voltage drift in the error detection circuit.
I have ordered new buffer IC's for the buffer boards, so I can rebuild them.
But I'd like to be quite certain that I have caught any error on the SC board, that could potentially destroy the buffer boards, before reinstalling them.

Does anybody have advice on what to look for?

Long post, I know, but I figured I might just put it all on the table to start with.
