I have a main board in insignia 47lcd that i suspect is messing up plays for 10min and picture goes out, all power supply good. Still have sound. Also suspect Tcon, i am getting error red light 7 flashes upon turning tv off. Swapped in a main board 715t2830-2-2 from a 42lcd insignia same year. The boards appear one hundred percent the same and have same number but another serial number tag carries two different numbers. Now i get blue powerlight but tv or backlight never turns on and upon turning off i get 15 flashes. Should this board have swapped equally , i feel like it is bad too. What do you think.

ONLY if the panels are the same series but different size, OR if the TV has an easily accessible service menu allowing panel settings to be changed. The seller may be able to tell you. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Where does the tcon get power from . mine has a set of wires in a plug going to it from the main board and a ribbon cable with about 4 wires coming from the inverter board. Whats the connection between invereter and tcon board carrying. I just ran the tv for about 15 minutes playing excellent then screen looks like it melted kind of stretched concave on the sides and went off. i got sound and power but no picture and no menu screens. What do you think.Comment

Usually power comes from LVDS connection... Can you get us a picture, or better, a video of the problem? Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Will main board from 42lcd insignia work in 47lcd insignia?
Received new tcon board today and got it in the tv. I have about 5 hours of use and its working perfect. The tcon was the problem. I have one last question when i turn the tv off the blue power on indicator is still flashing red 5 times upon shut down like it has an error code. Could the main board still have a fault in its memory. Does anyone know a factory reset for this television as it has no option in the menu screens. Maybe this would fix the flashing. ThanksComment

by Dani_2024Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...5 Photos -

Issue: No Power, Then Rebooting After Main Board Change
Short answer: replace main board and power board
Technical answer: replace main board and Q306 & Q307 on power board.
Long answer:
TV wouldn't turn on. Power switch was fine which means the main board isn't processing the power on signal. Replaced main board. TV turns on now but randomly reboots. Bad main board? EEPROM? Tried to pull main board and got a shock touching the corner of the board. That's weird. C334 (450V 10uf) capacitor is still holding a high charge.... -
by cheeky2I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection... -
by Asraf AtbHi everyone,
Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.
Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.
I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....1 Photo -

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-
