    55LD520 backlighting issue?

This is listed on my local craigslist
    http://batonrouge.craigslist.org/ele/3613072694.html

I asked the seller what model it is and he said it was a 55LD520-ua

I would never pay 300 for it, but im considering offering ~120-150 for it.

The "obvious" suspect would be that the slave inverter failed, but the seller says the set runs fine in this state for long periods of time, and you would expect the inverters to detect that much of a failure and send an error message. I dont know if its possible to have the main fuse on the slave/ or master inverter to fail and then not be able to even send the error signal?

The inverters are dirt cheap for this model on ebay, but there are 2 versions it seems, one being very simple and only using 2 transformers per inverter, and the other seemingly having 1 inverter for every 2-4 bulbs.

    What would yall offer?
Fixed so far 12 lcd's , 1 plasmas, 5 monitors, 0 dlp's (plan to keep the dlps at 0). and 3 atx power supplies, and 2 motherboards.

It's a bad panel, in my opinion. If the slave inverter failed, the lighting cut-off wouldn't be so even.

I was somewhat worried about that too, cause the second picture shows some ghosting (could be from a slow camera) and shows some light getting through evenly on the bad side.

The person didnt seem willing to budge much from the 300 (would only go to 260) so im not worried, just gonna ignore this one.

Sorry for hijacking this thread but I am hoping to get some help with my LG 55LD520 LCD TV which decided to take a break today. Here's what's going on:

I was having an issue with the set getting a signal from my Comcast cable box earlier today. I actually had this same issue about two months ago, replaced the box and everything worked great until today. I know it seemed odd to be having the same exact problem with Comcast's equipment again, but I went ahead and got them to replace the box again which restored my picture. This fix lasted for all of about 30 minutes when the screen went black (still lit) with the LG logo + "No Signal" displaying. The no signal message lasted for about 30-60 seconds at which time the screen went dead (not lit, TV still on) before flickering faintly for around 30 seconds or so. Once the flickering stopped the screen stayed pitch black and the set was acting unresponsive when I attempted to turn it off using the remote until it actually turned off about 20 seconds after hitting the power button. I disconnected + reconnected all cables (power included) going to the set but it made no difference. At this time the only action I can get from the TV is the status indicator changing from red to blue and vice versa when hitting the power button.

Do these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? If so, is there a suggested fix? Any help or links to relevant threads would be appreciated.
