Yeah, your Va is low, very low, and it's probably causing Vs to read low, too... Can you repeat it with the two sustain boards unplugged?

Also not sure if i mentioned this before but reading one of the other threads on this board you asked about relay clicks, there's relays on the psu that click when the tv is turned on and off

not sure if they're meant to click or not

Ah, good.

with both sustain boards unplugged from psu there's no voltage at either Va or Vs

plug both boards back in and voltage goes back to where it was before

This is normal on the C550, as they detect missing sustain boards and trigger an error. If Vs/Va are good, like around 200V and 60V, then the PSU is OK.

So since i have 10 and .15 ish volts instead, it's more than likely the psu?

Or the sustain boards; if they're shorted, they could cause this problem. I will have a look at this more in detail tomorrow. Will try to rule out shorted plasma panel - though very rare for Samsung. Way past bed time now.

Sorry, I did not notice them before, way too late last night...

I am working on a PS43D450 with a friend, it will not power up fully with X- or Y-main removed, but Vs/Va DO rise.

im about to sleep now but so far ive got low va and vs, dropping.
no va or vs with both boards unplugged

someone else told me drv reset means there's something gone in the hv side of the psu

also are the pics clear enough/links working?

DRV RESET is on the X- and Y-main, right?

I'mnot exactly sure what it means

The logic board (if tthat's what it's even called ) has a green led that is on for five seconds, off for two

According to tgohome. Info?. Com? On a similar model, that means drv reset and it doesn't say anything else, other led patterns are normal or abnormal

Someone else said drv reset means the logic board is detecting something wrong in the high voltage side of the psu and shutting everything off or resetting something.. I'm not too sure and to be honest I have no idea if he knew what he was talking about

The LED should flash while running, if it goes out, there is a problem somewhere. I recall DS-RESET as been on the X-main and Y-main, as they feed an error signal back -- not sure if that's the same as DRV-RESET?

yeah it said blink every .5 seconds is normal, every 8 is abnormal, 5 seconds on 2 off is DRV_RESET

guess i'll just keep searching around and see if someone else has come across it

Do you get abnormal blinks when the Y-main and X-main are missing?

Everything except power to x and y plugged in

Chimes plays, logic board flashes the DRV_RESET pattern

I'm out of my depth here, but I think that's normal. That is, the PS43D450 I'm working on does the same thing. Have you tried the test patterns jumper?
