Sorry for jumping on one year old thread. I have same Sony KDL-46S4100 and same symptoms as "Nomoresonys". also ordered second replacement A board which did not work... I researched several threads online and this one has the most helpful information. But I have additiona question:

I noticed there is a DC voltage about 57V between grounds of primary and secondary circuits on the Power board (there is 57V DCV on the big left&middle heatsinks (they are connected) and small heatsink on the right (which is connected with general ground of the entire chassis or primary AC input.
It looks like leveled half wave from the 120V AC input from the bridge rectifier.
Is this a normal design or sign of failure ?

No haven't fixed it, gave up for quite a while, just now revisiting this weird sony, lol.

Same problems after change main Board and TV fixed ..........Sony 1-857-092-21 Main A Board for KDL-46S4100 Panel Sticker Number: LTY460HB08

PS: This TV no needs to update sofeware.

glad you got it fixed, now my panel # is LTZ460HB10, the a board is 1-857-092-41, shop jimmy will tell you they interchange but I've had no luck there.

latest symptom, screen goes blank while streaming with android device, is fine til I try to increase volume with tv remote, then its like it just can't handle that little extra bit of stimuli. already left back off tv, with back on it would do same thing, with back off, tv works fine, til I try to stream and turn up or down volume, been a strange tv.

Has anyone ever fixed one of these TV's? I've got a separate thread going about the same TV (KDL-46S4100), but this post has by far the best information (unfortunately, same result - no fix posted; I'm assuming a fix was never found).

Wouldn't it be great to find that 1 capacitor (or whatever) that is causing all of these problems?
