    possible purchase Hitachi L47x02a

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone is is familiar with Hitachi l47x02a? it's a 1080 plasma. $30 with a 32 inch emerson both for $30. I think parts would be hard to find for the Hitachi both have good screens. should I buy these?

    L47X02A is an LCD.
$15 each is pretty good, the Emerson would be easy to fix, then you could focus on the Hitachi.

You only get 55" plasmas from Hitachi and Panasonic (2010 onwards), and as far as I know, Toshiba only ever used LG or Samsung plasma panels in their plasma TVs. Most likely it's a 52" LCD by Samsung (display panel) with tab bond defect, or a 55" LCD by LG Display (who have a small problem with some older display panels.)

            It's bad tab bonds. Fix:

46" and 52" panels have half picture faults. Varies depending on the exact failure. 40" ones have full picture faults.

Go for $35, max, imo. Because you can so easily **** up the panel trying to fix tab bond issues, if you are careless.

Tom I am not sure if this Tv has the same issue..This is the picture 99% of the Time. once before I had programed the chanels it had a " full menu" picture. it's rare but sometime the right side has a different pattern.

Don't think it's a Tab Bond issue. could not find any issues with the tabs. so I was thinking bad panel then I noticed there was a spot that if I touched would clear up the picture. it looks like a testing pad?. used a small screw driver to make contact with the " pad " pad is marked in picture. panel is fine for now can't seem to get the panel to mess up anymore. but worried it's not fixed don't know why touching the pad with screw driver fixed the picture?

                      Re: possible purchase Hitachi L47x02a

The panel bondings are very sensitive and just flexing the board slightly can often temporarily fix the tab bonds. And sometimes it's not possible to see the problem, as it's not always visible.

was touching them to no avail..only when I put my finger on the " pad " did the screen start to clear up.. the last time the screen was bad all I did was gently touch the pad with screw driver.. was about to give up because touching the tab bonds did not help
