Samsung 55" lcd ln66c630 no backlight

Was watching tv, heard a small pop and picture went out while sound still works. Ordered and replaced inverter board but still have the same issue. Given the pop sound is it likely that one of the ccfl bulbs is bad and causing the entire issue? I have no light at all from the tv other than the power lcd light. Thought of trying a new tcon board but not sure. All caps look good and still have power/sound so thing the main board should be good to go.

I know getting to the ccfl's is not going to be easy so wanted to get opinions before starting that. Tcon board would be easy but the pop then no picture makes me wonder if that is even the issue.

OK, your TV uses power supply-inverter board and balancer board that gets the High Voltage outputs from the Power supply-inverter board and get distributed to each lamps.
If one of the lamp is bad you still should see the backlights flash on for seconds before the inverter goes into shutdown due to bad lamp (the inverter will fire up the lamps first, if it detect too much current flowing in any one of the lamp the little lamp current sensing transformers on the balancer board will send the feedback signal to tell the inverter to go into shutdown, or if it detects that after the lamps are fired up but one or more lamp did not stay on, it will also go into shutdown. The detection will detect the problem in the first 3 seconds to make sure all are OK for the inverter to stay on.
So look real close at the screen in the dark room to see if the lamps flash at all first.

Thanks! Tried that and the screen stays completely black. Back cover is off so tried also looking for some sign of light from the back of the unit and nothing there either. Does this point us in any sort of direction?

That means the Inverter circuits ddi not even try to run.
So next thing we need are really GOOD CLEAR FOCUSED pictures of the back side of the TV so we can see how all the boards are connected together, and then good pictures of the power supply board.

I too am have this same issue with this model. replaced the inverter with no change. I read that c1818 on the power supply board had been the fix for others with this problem. but upon inspection found the location for c1818 but no capacitor.

Samsung UE60KU6079 backlight okay mainboard responsive, no picture, no sound
                  by Ierwin
                  Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                  by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                  Assuming...

Thomson 50UD6306 (TCL) Backlight Issue, starts then stops, led changed
                  by Cornito
                  Hello Team,

I'm back with another backlight issue that I thought was simple, but it turned out to be more complex than expected.

Let me provide a brief history: The TV was working well, then one day, the backlight started and shut down. I thought I had an LED issue leading to this behavior, so I replaced the LEDs with brand new ones. However, the issue remains the same.

Next, I replaced the electrolytic capacitors attached to the LED power supply, but the results were the same. I then replaced the driver, a OB3365RP, and did it twice due to the same result....

Samsung TV model UE50TU: rebooting, backlight, sound, but no picture
                  by TR103
                  Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
                  - sound and backlight, but no picture
                  - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                  - it keeps rebooting
                  - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                  - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                  - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                  - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

iPad Pro 12.9 5th Gen Backlight Issue
                  by cheebster
Hello, got an iPad Pro A2378 12.9 5th gen with no backlight. Got another test unit without screen, tested the screen, still no backlight with the test unit.
Figured out the backlight on the screen was bad, ordred a new backlight from mobilesentrix, *carefully replaced it* without damaging the lcd, oh well.
Final result, issue is still there, the screen has no back lights. So i'm back to square one, with 3 hours less and 100$ out, issue still on the screen.
The panel is still ok, i can see the apple in the middle of the screen when it kicks in, just no backlight.
                  Anyone...
