    Aftermarket Replacement LCD Panels?

I picked up a 60" Sharp Aquos LED 3D TV for almost nothing with a cracked LCD. Everything works and you can still see video. I thought it may be worth trying to find a replacement panel for this one.
I emailed Sharp Support and got this following response:

Unfortunately, while the warranty would cover defects in the parts and construction of your product, accidental physical damage is not covered. The panel is one of the most important parts of your TV. If this becomes damaged it is not an easy task to replace. Unfortunately you are looking at, in the very least, 80% of the original price of the tv after parts and labor. For this reason, Sharp does not replace panels or make them available for replacement. I apologize for any inconvenience.

While no surprise, I would hope they would still make the panel available as a part. Any idea if there are aftermarket panels for something this big or pretty much out of luck??

    Re: Aftermarket Replacement LCD Panels?

I picked up a 40" Emerson LCD TV today for free, it has a cracked screen, I powered it on and saw that the partial picture had video with color, sound and remote control works, this set was manufactured Sept. 2011, I did a search on yahoo by entering the panel number and did come up with some companies that wanted my email, name, etc. and they are supposed to email me a quote, but some of these places showed as many as 500 in stock so I'm wondering if they only sell to a Company wanting large quantities, I'm waiting now to see if any of them reply back. I would really like to get a replacement panel at a low cost.

I'm not even sure if this one would sell to any of us since we are not Brokers, Manufacturers or Distributors.

Macbook pro logic board replacement parts quesion
            by boosti45
i have a 2020 macbook pro 13" A2251 with 820-09149 logic board so i found an issue with chip labeled U6903 according to schem. boardview using flexBV software, so i removed it from the board and the issue im having is that the chip says "07A08FI ELC180" on top of it but when searching for a replacement chip, i can find tons of identical looking chips that also have "ELC180" printed on them but the first set of digits is never the same so im trying to find out if i need this exact chip with these same numbers as mine and if not which ones are compatible as a replacement?...

Trying to understand how to find best replacement cap for old parts.

Recently I purchased a Tektronix TDS1012, a 20 years old product for cheap and I thought it could be a nice opportunity for playing (i.e. recapping) and learn something in the process.
The power supply board is exactly the same from this post so I'll just steal it for now.

I'm trying to find replacements for all those Lelon electrolytic caps, but then quickly...

            Sell or Shim Solar panels?
            by eccerr0r
Well, due to my grid tie inverter not accepting high voltages, and the fact that the lions in my solar panels are 36V (72-cell) I think I need to stick with 72-cell.

However I have a few smaller panels that are 36, 32, and two 30-cell. The 36 and 32 together run at 75% efficiency (and subtract more with additional inefficiencies) when running in parallel with the 72-cell panels. The kicker is that the two 30s... generate 0% power when connected in parallel(!)

So now what to do with these small panels?

            I could sell them...

            Or I could shim them....

Sharp CC-60LE640U - after mainboard replacement, backlite turns on -- but cannot update firmware / see menu
            by AustinComputerDoctor
            Hello,

I am looking / wondering if anyone knows where a good firmware download link is for a LC-60LE640U, the sharp support sight says the screen is archived but offers no links.

            I see backlite is active,

but I cannot get the screen to return back to menus , etc

This is all after replacing the mainboard...

            any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
            by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...
