Re: IC Number on DPS-286 AP/RDENCA336WJQZ Sharp power board
It blew open circuit because you have shorted component on the output side of the R7914, check the resistance of the STBY SMPS IC7905 PIN 8 and Primary circuit GND for very low resistance.

Did you replace all the components or only the R7914? when i replace the R7914 always blows.Leave a comment:

Re: IC Number on DPS-286 AP/RDENCA336WJQZ Sharp power board
I just wanted to say thanks for this thread, it got by DPS-286ap up and running again. I ended up replacing R7914 (failed open), R7918 (seemingly OK at 2.2ohm), IC7905, D7908, and D7905 (showing around 400ohm).Leave a comment:

Re: IC Number on DPS-286 AP/RDENCA336WJQZ Sharp power board
Hi, I have Sharp LC-42A66M and having intermittent power off problem. TV will shut off of a few seconds[no green/red light at front LED] and it came back. It happens once/twice a day. And, sometimes no problem for a few days.
I though it was bad cap and opened up and checked the power supply board.
But, there was no bloated cap on board.
Power supply board is DPS-226AP-1 (RDENCA340WJQZ)
Is it possible that TNY264AP is having intermittent issue?
Should I just replace it?
Thanks in advance.

Re: IC Number on DPS-286 AP/RDENCA336WJQZ Sharp power board
I was able to open the PDF, but it was one page without specs of any of the parts in the diagram. I ordered both some 1/2W and 1/3W resistors. I'm not sure what to install in the board. I did find some 1/4W resistors on another website that I can order, just not sure if I need to.Leave a comment:

Re: IC Number on DPS-286 AP/RDENCA336WJQZ Sharp power board
R7918 still test good along with D7908 and D7909. How do I determine if it is a 1/4W or a 1/2W? Looking on Digi-Key they are the same physical size. It looks like they have the 1/2W in stock, and can order them individually, but I would have to buy 5,000 of the 1/4W to order them.Leave a comment:

Re: IC Number on DPS-286 AP/RDENCA336WJQZ Sharp power board
R7914 is the 2.2 OHMS FUSIBLE resistor 1/4W (or 1/2W, you have to measure the dimension) for supplying B+ to run the STBY power supply section, (you can use 2.2 Ohms MOX type which is Flame proof )that will blow open when that SMPS IC for the STBY power supply shorted out. R7918 is still OK?

Re: IC Number on DPS-286 AP/RDENCA336WJQZ Sharp power board
I have a DPS-304BP-1 A power board from a Sharp LC-42D64U with a blown IC7905 and a bad R7914. I can't seem to find info on the resistor. This thread sounds exactly like mine. The resistor is a 2.2 ohm resistor, I'm just unsure of what kind it is and where to get one. Can someone help me find what type of resistor I can replace it with? Thanks.Leave a comment:

Re: IC Number on DPS-286 AP/RDENCA336WJQZ Sharp power board
You can disconnect the cable between the power supply and the main board to see if that standby Voltage will come up. If not, then we need to do more troubleshooting in that power supply section.Leave a comment:

Both diodes replaced with the same numbers labeled. Still no stand by power. Probably main board?Leave a comment:

"I've replaced both diodes with same reference number 5383b"
D7908 and D7909 are NOT the same. Please look at the original diode D7909.
D7908 is 150V ZENER DIODE 1N5383.Last edited by budm; 10-24-2015, 07:25 PM.Leave a comment:

I have 165vdc from negative of cap to r7914 and r7918. Also from cap to D7908 D 7909 4vdc and 5 Vdc on other side. I've replaced both diodes with same reference number 5383bLeave a comment:

Re: IC Number on DPS-286 AP/RDENCA336WJQZ Sharp power board
1/2W. Is it open? That section of the circuit if for supply the VCC to run the PFC and the 12V/24V SMPS.
I updated my post 48.
So you still do not have the standby Voltage? Snubber diodes are OK?
BTW" Yes replaced that board still nothing" you replace the whole power supply board?Last edited by budm; 10-23-2015, 07:44 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: IC Number on DPS-286 AP/RDENCA336WJQZ Sharp power board
TNY264AP. The resistor R7918 2.20 Ohms is 1/2W MOX Flame proof, it is for supplying the Voltage from AUX winding of the STBY transformer for running the PFC IC and the SMPS IC of the 12V/24V power supply. The R7914 is the fusible resistor for supplying B+ to run the IC.
You also need to check the snubber network D7908, 7909.
So do you have about 165VDC between the negative leg of the main filter cap and either legs of R7914?
DCV between the two legs of the running cap C7915?

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by sam_sam_samI did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow
This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board
