The low 165V also seems really suspicious to me. Maybe the TV was hit by a surge.

Had to use flash, But everything is visible, Let me know if you want to see the foil side.

Optical closest to the center was 10v on the upper right leg.

So, if you CAREFULLY tweak the Vsus adjust pot, does Vsus change?

I had a plasma TV which would display a faint image down to 130V on the Vsus, so I think sometimes else is up, but there is the possibility if it is designed for a high ~210V it might not show anything on 165V. Here's where you may need to use that scope .

see that is the thing, the PS treats the SN as a dead short when it is not. with SN plugged in and for the brief moment that the vsus powers up I measure about 1v then the psu shuts down the vsus relay.

Ah, that's where it gets tricky, because this set doesn't have removable buffers. But you can still tweak Vsus with them disconnected.

Wish I had the means to load test this ps first, and vsus info on the panel would be great too

A 120V, 100W light bulb would be a good load. It might not last very long on 165V, but it could do a temporary job. Are those illegal in Canada yet?

Solder to the light bulb and insert wires into one of the connector ends, the end which would normally plug into the SN. Tape all the wires up so you can't easily electrocute yourself.

Measure the cold resistance of the bulb first; it needs to be at least ~165 ohms to ensure it doesn't load it down too much.

The set will still shut down without working SN or SS due to 6/7/8 blinks error but it will run usually for about 1.5-2 seconds.

Man you are lucky if you can't get the X2 working you should be able to get the S2 working right? Was it free? I only once got a crappy 42 inch LCD for free. Everything else I paid for.

Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing hereπŸ€”?

Hello. I am hoping the very smart helpful people of this forum can help me repair my TV. Here is the history of the what I have done so far.

I was given the TV by a friend who was going to throw it away because it did not work.

The TV definitely had a bad TNPA5349 board that was shorted across the power input. I sent it to a repair service on ebay and was told it was rare case and not repairable.

I then bought a refurbished TNPA5349. Before installing it I checked for a shorted power input and it was good. I installed it and powered on the TV. I could...

After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...

                                          Hello,

Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.

                                          Model number is TH-50PZ85U

Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.

Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.

I also hear a few clicks.

I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.
