I have this same model TV, a Sharp LC-C5255U. A lady in the neighborhood was giving it away for free to anybody that wanted to see if they could fix it so I grabbed it. Steady 1 Hz flashing green light. I can do the Channel Down and VOL + and turn on the TV or plug in the TV and I get the screen to light up for about 1 second before going dark again. No clicking or anything. I'm wondering if it is just a bad PSU. The other option I was able to track down was it may be a bad LED display, but since the screen lights up (in some manner) I'm wondering if that means it is OK, or since it is just a quick on/off, if the LED display is bad? Any ideas?

I had the same issue (2-5 error) and I did the "Channel Down & Volume Up," reset and now my light no longer flashes. It just stays on and it doesn't appear that the backlight is coming on. Any thoughts or ideas before I crack this baby open and start disconnecting ribbon cables?

Also when the PSU comes on you get a relay click. When I turn the unit off I get a louder relay click.

I am new here and have the same TV as mentioned. Mine gives no error codes and only has a solid green led when the power button is pressed. Just a black screen. Tried the force power on with same result. Any ideas.

I just repaired this LCD tv exact same model.
symptoms- when the tv turns on, all I get is a black screen with blinking green light. No other error codes. It was crazy frustrating trouble shooting this. I measured the transformers on the master and slave inverter board with a multi meter. The resistance should be 1.31 k ohms. All but one measured within the specs except one. I get an OL reading. Note I did my measurement with the tv powered off. I set my multi meter on the ohms scale. I took a chance to order this part on eBay for 13 dollars. After soldering it, the resistance for all of the transformers were back to specs. The tv powered on and stayed on. Works good as new. If anyone has the this similar issue I would advice testing the mini transformers on your master and slave inverter board. My email is normanw1@yahoo.com for help.

    lcc5255u aquos fixed
    lcc5255u aquos resolved

Note, it was very very very challenging troubleshooting this problem because I didn't get any other error codes except the blinking green light. There wer no visual signs of bulging capacitors, or melted resistors. I read so many things on the main board, power supply board, cfls and inverters could go bad. Also with this tv if there are any problems with any parts of the components , the tv goes into standby mode.

Thanks for the input and info. Gotta decide what to do with the unit now..

Yes those are configuration jumpers. Inserting the jumper opens up a set of contacts.

It could simply be because the LCD is so damaged you can't see anything, try the input button and see if you can get a video from an external source (like a DVD player.)

Nope. It's not always visible without a backlight, even under torch. Samsung LCDs tend to show it clearly, whereas LG-Philips don't.

I always thought you could tell if the screen was smashed?

If not by naked eye then by torch or camera flash.?

I was so happy when my recent collection showed a screen, thought i had been done too.

I'll ask my son to talk with neighbor and find out (they live 200 miles away from me). Guess I will have to find someone who needs some parts for their sharp TV now...oh, well..live and learn

No solid idea myself - perhaps option jumpers or settings for models?

Did you ask the neighbour what happened when it failed?

Maybe it fell and this broke a CCFL tube, hence the error code and cracked screen?

T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)
    by Tr0ll
Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

    Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

    First replacement T-con:

I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...

SAMSUNG UN55KS9000F picture fades then distorts into vertical lines after 20 seconds
    by JJAAMM
This was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.

    Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode...

Samsung TV model UE50TU: rebooting, backlight, sound, but no picture
    by TR103
    Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
    - sound and backlight, but no picture
    - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
    - it keeps rebooting
    - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
    - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
    - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

    - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

    Sharp lc-70le755u flickering picture/backlight
    by BeeShadow
Hey everyone! I inherited a "free" Sharp lc-70le755u with a strange picture issue. To try to explain, the picture flickers before what I think is a power saving mode kicks in and reduces the back light. I took a short video and uploaded it here:

    https://imgur.com/NAou7aP

I'm thinking it could be the TCon board, but possibly the panel. Thought it might be worth it to post here and see if anyone has a better idea before I try throwing parts at it. If its the panel (which I hope its not), then I won't bother trying to fix it.
