    It's a Vizio RUUUUN!!

    I know it's a Vizio, but before you bolt check this out!

    So here's what happened. While passing my family room someone was watching TV. I smelled something synthetic burning in the room. I looked all over, but could not find the source. The next day the TV would not turn on.. I got the Vizo back light (logo), but no picture.
    This is only a diagnostic at a glance, I'm still purchasing other troubleshooting eq.

    All the bad caps are circled in red.

    I think something failed on the power board that caused all the caps on the inverter boards to pop. Also on very large cap under the shielding of the Power Board. (Please see image)

    I'm getting a volt meter soon so I can test all the fuses. I really can't tell if the Main Board (Mother Board) is done. Even the T-Con (I hope that's what it's called) is working as well.

    Any thoughts, ideas, or where to start is appreciated. I'm still scouring the forums to learn more, so I may not have had a chance to view all forum advice fyi.

    That Inductor in the blue circle is part of pi filter, so it looks like the DC filter caps for the 24vdc power supply have been dying slowly and allow high frequency AC ripple to flow to the inverter board, at the same time the inductor is trying to block high frequency to flow through it so alot of voltage drop across the inductor and it gets hot. I would recap all the caps on the power supply board except the large 450VDC cap, and all the 2 caps in each inverter board. You will need to check the MOSFET's on the inverter board to make sure they are not damaged. The inductro may be still OK if the coating on the wire is not damage to allow the short turn of the coil to happen.

      Looks like a GV47LFHDTV10A. I'm working on two of these right now. Just like Budm says, recap the Pwr supply and the inverter boards. Hopefully, your main board and T-con board are OK.

        Just fixed one of those. I bet it's a voltage regulator on the mainboard. I believe it's u5. I didn't have one so I jumpered pin 2 to the regulator below it for testing. Make sure the regulator being jumpered from is 1.8v. It might have been the regulator above it. Probe it first. My regulator was only outputting 1.2vdc. This is common for the power on Vizio led goes white and won't power back down. Funny thing is the tv is still working with the jumper in place. Lol. Btw I was also receiving 24v to the regulators with this fault.
        Of course this was not an inverter failure thou. Your condition is different. My inverters were blackened but not failed

          Sorry guys, I've been away family issues. Thank you all for this info! I'm still very new and will probably have to research everything that was relayed to me here.

          Any resources are appreciated, as always I appreciate the feedback!

            I am currently working on this same set. I had to take a break and find out if anyone else ran into this mess of a repair. It is the exact same layout as the first post. The symptoms that this set gave was that it would turn on normal and then after about two minutes, the backlights dimmed with a noticable transformer screaming sound. I'm guessing this would have turned out the same as the TV above if it would have stayed on longer but the owner turned it off before it got that far.

            So far (sigh), I changed:
            (2) bloated 680 35V caps on the slave inverter board
            (2) bloated 680 35V caps on the master inverter board
            (1) bloated 470 35V cap on the power board.

            I wanted to see if anyone had a schematic for this board to see if there were any more related caps/parts to this circuit to change. This is a TV that I am repairing for someone so I dont want to chang anything that doesn't need changed.

              Well.... in closing... that was all that I needed to repair this set. It ran for a while with no buzzing/hissing. Those five caps were replaced.

                I have the same model GV47LFHDTV10A that has a damaged main board.Anybody have the actual schematic for it?I can only find trouble shooting charts for and I need a true schematic that shows me what parts connect to what.Also if you've the schematic for the audio board and anything else it would be much appreciated.I've had the set sitting in storage so I can give the actual board part numbers but I'd love to fix it.Thank you in advance

                  Did it have the same symptoms as I mentioned earlier? If so, check and change caps.
