    Re: LCD32880HDF problems

part number is 17MB25-3 v1 I found out this morning. backlights are fine as it will sit at the above screen as long as you want and not go black. but as soon as you try to enter the menu it flashes up then goes again.

I recall a similar problem with a different Vestel, it turned out to be a corrupted EEPROM. On that model I could just remove the EEPROM and replace it... I don't think you can do the same on this one though.

That's just what I was thinking, and no you are correct you cant change them on these so it looks like a new a/v board then.

Right quick update for you I bought a second hand board and was assured it is in full working condition, Fitted it and the power light just flashes constantly but if i disconnect the tcon board the tv turns on well backlights light up but obviously no picture. But the tcon board is fine as I have proved with the other board. got me confused now lol.

another update for you guys the tv is now up and running. Turns out the touch panel on the side was faulty. took it off connected the black and the yellow cables to make it think it was still attached and it fired up. Then went two seconds to black lol. But that is fixed now as well so I now have a 32" monitor for my pc and xbox. Thanks for all your help once again, Much appreciated.

              Re: LCD32880HDF problems

Hi I am reading a message dated Aug 2012 about a 32" LCD 880HDF that has a fault on the backlight ie only coming on for a short time with good clear menu selection but then going dark. I have a set with exactly this fault and have already changed the PSU and the signal input board with no success. the set has the touch pad at the side and seems to respond OK my question is did shorting out the touch pad black and yellow wires fix the backlight fault or did you do something else it is not clear???? many thanks PS if this member is no longer on the forum does anybody else have any idea what the fix is for this TV.......

The backlight problem was the caps after the inverter needed replacing/removing. the board on the side was faulty as well as when i fixed the backlight problem it just scrolled through the menus constantly.
