Re: LCD32880HDF problems
The backlight problem was the caps after the inverter needed replacing/removing. the board on the side was faulty as well as when i fixed the backlight problem it just scrolled through the menus constantly.
Thank you to the guys at HEGE supporting Badcaps [ HEGE ] [ HEGE DEX Chart ]

Re: LCD32880HDF problems
another update for you guys the tv is now up and running. Turns out the touch panel on the side was faulty. took it off connected the black and the yellow cables to make it think it was still attached and it fired up. Then went two seconds to black lol. But that is fixed now as well so I now have a 32" monitor for my pc and xbox. Thanks for all your help once again, Much appreciated.

Re: LCD32880HDF problems
Right quick update for you I bought a second hand board and was assured it is in full working condition, Fitted it and the power light just flashes constantly but if i disconnect the tcon board the tv turns on well backlights light up but obviously no picture. But the tcon board is fine as I have proved with the other board. got me confused now lol.

Re: LCD32880HDF problems
That's just what I was thinking, and no you are correct you cant change them on these so it looks like a new a/v board then.

Re: LCD32880HDF problems
part number is 17MB25-3 v1 I found out this morning. backlights are fine as it will sit at the above screen as long as you want and not go black. but as soon as you try to enter the menu it flashes up then goes again.

Re: LCD32880HDF problems
slight problem menus don't stay up long enough to do anything. Just flash up then disappear.

Re: LCD32880HDF problems
right guys quick update for you after having a fiddle when i came home i found that if you turn it on with the number buttons you get this screen. It will sit there at that screen for ages no problem so im guessing it is not power supply problems or am i wrong? it will also bring up another one if you try to change channels that has an ok button on it at this screen you can adjust the volume but the menus only flash up for a second then go off again.
Any thoughts?...

LCD32880HDF problems
Hi guys me again.
I have been given an Alba LCD32880HDF it turns on backlights come on, then blue screen with channel number etc, but the volume bar comes on and the volume is going down without touching any buttons, Then the screen just goes blank, but it has sound so i'm told. No source has been connected to confirm this. Do you think it may be the main board that is faulty? as the screen stays on for varying times the longest being when it is first turned on.
I have noticed that the large chip on the board does get quite warm even in such a short time.
Any help would be...
