DYNEX TV - Please Wait....then 3 Seconds to Black

I just picked up a Dynex DX-L26-10A LCD TV that is giving the infamous Please Wait.... screen when it powers up, then the lamps turn off after 3 seconds. This TV was manufactured in October 2009.

I can't see any image on the dark screen, I can't get it to recognize a playing DVD player - so the Input Button does not seem to change the inputs, the Menu button also does not produce an image on the dark screen.

I get a fully lit white screen for 3 seconds upon power up with the T-Con board disconnected from the main board, so I know that all the lamps are functioning properly. There are 4 2-pin lamp connectors, most likely with 2 lamps on each, connected to the combo Power Supply / Inverter Board. All 4 Transformers measure 760 ohms on the secondaries. Disconnecting individual lamps does not change the outcome after power up.

At this time, I am not looking for troubleshooting help to diagnose this problem down to the component level. What I am looking for is if anyone has seen or heard of this problem, which seems to very common on Dynex TVs, and if they can confirm if the problem is caused by the Power Supply / Inverter Board or if it is caused by the Main Control Board.

Naturally, if anyone actually does know the exact component that is causing this problem on this model TV, please do not hesitate to provide this information - it would be very much appreciated.

I can post pictures of the boards later, if necessary.

Same problem with my Dynex, regarding the "Please Wait", then black.
Opened up my tv and started looking for damaged parts.
The above pictures from BUDM shows a "burnt high voltage winding" on one of the removed parts. Found the same looking problem in my tv and removed the part. Can somebody help me figure out what this part is, what it does, and anywhere I can find a replacement?

BudM, I have a Dynex DXLDVD22 just as in your photobucket and I have replaced the bad caps in the back light board and still had the same trouble so I bought both boards and still have the same trouble: powers on, please wait appears for a second then hear a light click and back light goes out but screen is still on. Could this be a bad back light in my screen making it shut off the back light and what would be the easiest way to test the screen, a resistance test of each of the four connections? Thanks for any input and/or direction...
