You know my question. Got the SM...?

2 blinks is power SOS. If your PSU is similar, try this:

Is your PSU similar to the PSU in the video?

The PSU is not similar to that in the video.

Check if you have Vsus around 200V.

On Monday I was checking the PS and I saw smoke on the lower right C6 board. When I examined the board I discovered that C617 a SMC was burnt.
I checked the parts list in the SM but I did not see this capacitor, therefore I
now have another problem to solve.

You may in fact have a shorted COF on the panel column drivers, which would mean the TV would be unrepairable. Did you buy it as a faulty TV from someone or do you fix TVs for a living?

This plasma belongs to the church where I worship and it shut down about 2
                  weekes ago.

Churches have plasma displays now? Anyway... if it is in untouched condition, I would first try and locate the power board problem. Unplug the "C" board with the failed cap for now. Those SMD caps can sometimes fail from vibration/movement and the problem may be completely separate. You should still get a pic on half/a third of the screen.

I saw a Panasonic plasma in my local bank with 2 blinks. Considered asking them about it but when I got it back they had replaced it with a new LG LCD/LED display.
