    vizio plasma

    Does anyone know what cap causes the V scan to run too high (its 230v should be 207v) The adjustment has little effect. The power supply # lj44-00132a used in vizio vp50hdtv20a and sanyo dp50747. They sell a cap kit on fleabay. The set works ok with some artifacts in the pix at times.
    Its hard to see these boards now, i am trying not to have to take all the caps out of circuit to check them. Thanks

      Well, I don't know if this will help you any but I was able to find the service manual for this TV (vizio vp50hdtv20a). It has some schematics and a flow chart for trouble shooting, which always comes in handy... Hope that helped some!

          Thanks, I have that. It doesn't show the lj44-00132 power supply schematic.
          On my set, I can't adj the Va voltage (its 20 volts too high) the control pot has little effect. The tv works, but has a lot of artifacts ,sparkles . Its hard for me to see the bottom of the boards anymore.I am trying not to have to take all the electrolytic's off the board to check them.

              Very true! None-the-less retiredcaps is the BOMB! He has helped me in some sticky situations in the past, so listen to what he is saying. By the way, never purchase any of these kits from eBay, it really is a rip off, you can find all of the items on Mouser.com very cheap. Everyone here will be willing to help, so put your wallet away! lol!

                Yea I going to let this post ride for a day. Maybe I will get a link for an actual schematic for the power supply (Lj44-00132). If not I will pull all the caps off and I will post the results. thanks

                  Did I mention that the link I found wants $17.95 USPS Priority Mail International Flat Rate Envelope for shipping 2 fuses and 5 capacitors to Canada?

                    WOW!!!!! Is there any company in Canada that sells electronic components (like Mouser or Digi-Key here is the States)? Because that's crazy! I'm sure you're going to run into an issue anywhere you need international shipping though. I will look around to see if I can find a schematic for you for that board. By the way, who manufactures the board?

                      Check your multimeter battery. I bet it is low (causing high readings) and you have the standard sparklies/flickering pixels problem with Samsungs which is a Yrr/Yfr adjustment problem (easily fixed.) Good meters will have a battery icon show when the battery is too low.

                        Well, I was not able to find any schematics for the power board itself, however I came across a lot of things talking about 7812 and 7815. I know this might be a little outlandish but take a look at the 7812 to make sure it's running 12v and the 7815 for 15v the output is the 3rd pin.                           Thanks guys,I had the low bat in the DVM scenario. I have 2 wavetek DVM's This set works all secondary voltages are normal except the (vs). I can adjust the other panel voltages.The panel and sustain boards are made by samsung
                          The (vs ) potentiometer is the only control that dosen't adj Its running about 230v and should be 207v. I get a lot of artifacts with some image retention.

                            Adjusting the Vs pot, it does not vary by much? Check all the resistors around Vs potentiometer for opens/high-R and don't run the set for long, plasma panel may sustain damage, especially buffers or sustains.

                              Yea , I imagine the set is close to shut down mode. The sustain boards warm up very quick then get hot So I don't run it long. I will check the voltage divider circuit that the (vs) control is in series with tonight. You would think there is a schematic out there some were...

                                What's the model on the board? BN44-xxxxxx or BN94-xxxxxx? Where xxxxxx are digits, maybe followed by A,B,C etc. I may have one available.

                                    I agree with retiredcaps...I repaired a Toshiba 42" a week ago and spent $40 when I had a feeling it was the IGBT pac that went bad. $15 for the 13pin IC...I got a fuse and an old IC for $40. I payed to learn a lesson...

                                      I checked the caps.and changed the ons that were out of tolerance. the problem with the high (vs) voltage was an "adjustable precision shunt regulator" in the driver circuit of the (vs) supply replaced it with an good old NTE .
