Re: Protron PLTV-32c won't power on

I am also seeking help troubleshooting the same power supply symptoms on my Protron PLTV-32C. When I turn on TV 120vac power switch, the Power Supply produces 5vdc, and Main Board provides 3vdc signal to the Power Supply Board but for only about 7 seconds and then goes to 0vdc at which point the Power Supply 24vdc and the 16vdc have both ramped down to 0vdc. The Power Supply 5vdc is always present. Based on information in prior reply's, I replaced the Main Board, but still have voltage 24vdc and 16vdc ramp down symptom I have described. The Power supply does not have any obvious bloated capacitors, produces 5vdc all the time, and produces 24vdc and 16vdc during the 7 second 3vdc signal received from Main Board. Please advise on which circuit board(s) I should be troubleshooting and DMM test points. I will gladly send pics if I am able to post as a newbie (this is my first post). Thanks.

        Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue
        by GLISIT
        Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

        HP - CE Series - DAG7ALMB8C0 REV.C - MODEL - G7AL-2G - Missing MAINON & SUSON - Turns on power LED & Charges
        by reessi
        Hello,

I have re-soldered the loose pins on the RAM slot which is a common fault on these models..

It charges and turns on the power LED but is missing several voltages like RAM and CPU do not come up which I believe is due to MAINON & SUSON being missing to turn these supplies on..

What I am un-sure of is what is the ITC chip waiting for to send out these signals, what are the requirements?
I have checked these lines in diode mode and they seam normal -> 600.

I have checked to see if they come on for even a fraction of a second...

Acer Nitro 5 LA-L181p power LED turns on by 5 secs (Short on PCH rail?)
        by Victor Moreira Silva
        Hello everyone,

I'm trying to repair my old Acer Nitro 5 (AN517-54-55T5). I've already bought a new laptop, so this is more of a learning project. For the experience, with no high expectations of success.

Well, my decice specs are the following:

        Model: Acer Nitro 5 AN517-54-55T5
        CPU: Intel Core i5-11400H
        GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
        Motherboard: GH51G LA-L181P Rev:1c

        The symptom:
When pressing the power button, the power LED lights up for about 5 seconds and then turns off. Initially, the issue was intermittent: sometimes...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
        by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Insignia NS-LCD019-09 issue: Power light turns blue for 3 seconds, the flashes red before going solid read again
        by cajoeg
Hello, I'm new to the group and to trying to repair a LCD TV. During the past few years, I've been collecting/repairing/restoring vintage personal computers (Commodore, Apple II, Atari, TRS-80, Texas Instruments, and Timex Sinclair). This has been my retirement hobby. Now I've gotten interested in trying to repair a LCD TV that I have and used regularly when working on vintage computers.

The LCD I'm working on is a Insignia NS-LCD019. I've downloaded the service manual that I could find, but it must be a different revision since not too many items in the service manual match the TV...
