Yes its set to Default, inside that menu I did notice a EEPROM reset option, as you said corruption of that could be a possibility would a reset be advisable?

Try it, but since it is going away occasionally it sounds like a loose connector or a T-con problem.

OK mate I'll give it a shot but I think your probably correct with the latter explanation(s) Ill give the LVDS a pull and put it back in, if not I've already priced up both a LVDS & TCON replacement, Ill buy the LVDS first has its the cheapest, if that doesn't solve it then the TCON haha finally the mainboard, even if non of them work I've got the parts and can resell cheers for all your help Tom you've been a star

Re: Samsung LE40A656A1F Black to Red Screen Error

Well I'm pleased to say after opening it back up and unplugging the cable which runs from the main board to the t-con and cleaning around the t-con (some area I'd previously not cleaned) the problem has been solved with no extra costs incurred

Not sure if it was the dust all over the board of the t-con or the cable possibly been knocked when cleaning it first time round :? but won't lie I'm a happy chappy and its been almost problem free since.

So what is the problem you may now ask hahaha.......

Well I wired my spare desktop PC upto it but having wired up the soundcard to the selected ports on the back of the tv I'm not getting any sound, does anyone have any ideas to why this may NOT be happening lol, I really wanted to use it so I can skype my family round the world don't fancy having to buy external speaker system just for the PC sound, the PC soundcard works fine I've checked it so the fault definitely lays within the tv or its settings?

Where have you connected audio in? This TV has PC audio in port, as well as DVI/HDMI audio in, you can select which one the PC uses I think from the menus.

Mmmmm did not know that, well I attached the PC via the PC port and a normal PC monitor cable, I used a mini jack to RCA lead to wire the sound card to the two RCA ports marked PC Audio

Try the little jack like a headphones jack, I think that is PC audio input.

Just fyi, this does not work on US Samsung TVs. I know you and the original question poster is in the UK, but I just wanted to toss this out there so if someone else from the States come across it, they don't think there is something more wrong with their TV when it doesn't work for them, but thank you for posting about it!

I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

I am a pro and I have a problem that I have never seen despite my 7.5 years of experience on my own and my thousands of repairs, on a customer's Dell G3 15 3500.

On this PC I have already changed the complete palmrest because the keyboard was no longer working properly.

I also changed the screen because the PC fell and the screen was broken.

I changed the battery with a new and original battery.

I also had corrosion/oxidation on the...

                              Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...
