Re: Toshiba TV not powering on?

There are 4 connections coming from the PSU. I am going to try individually disconnecting and reconnecting them and see what happens.

UPDATE: I tried disconnecting the black plug on the bottom of the green board, a few inches away from the one you recommended, I disconnect, the fans started up for a second, when I tested it, but then it shut off again.

Can you take some of the covers off so we can see more of the boards? I am not sure of what connector you said you un-plugged.

Try to find the backlight inverter boards, I think they are under the shielded metal casings.

Re: Toshiba TV not powering on?

It must have taken a NASA engineer weeks to come up with a way to pack that much stuff into that small a space. Heck there is probably enough boards in there to run the space shuttle.

To find your problem you are going to have to get some room to work by taking off as many of the metal covers as possible. The primary way to determine the solution to your problem is to check to see if you have several different power levels going to different parts of the set. On each of the boards in your set there are from 1 to x number of connectors (plastic plugs w/ wires) going from one board to another. Each of the connectors have written on the board a legend that tells what each wire is for. One wire may be for ground and one for 5volts and one for PSon or BLon etc. Please take really clear pictures of all of those connectors so that we may see the legends printed on the circuit boards.

              Hehe.

I agree, that thing is a goldmine, if it can't be fixed then all the parts should get salvaged from it

The problem is that you almost need a microscope to see the half Japanese/English/Numeral/Symbols on the parts.

Okay, here are some pictures with the metal thing off. Sorry if it is not zoomed in enough. It is hard to capture the whole thing and get the details.

Here is that plug you asked about: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...1&d=1344290489

Ok, so, did you try un-plugging the connectors in the blue circle below?

And, what is under the red question mark? I think its the inverter, and we should try to un-plug it to see if it is at fault.

You can't. I tried. The metal is all 1 piece and it runs under all the boards, and is welded to the frame of the TV. No can do.

                                            Hello Everyone!

I have an Acer Aspire A315-42 laptop. I generally leave it on for long time by closing down its lid (so it enters the sleep mode). Recently, it rained quite heavily in out area. And the humidity and moisture seem to be high. So one late evening, after I opened the lid and turned on the laptop, it did power on as the blue light turned on but after it booted to the desktop screen, just 5-10 seconds after both the screen and blue light went out and laptop shut down (the blue power light turned orange). And after 2-4 seconds that orange light went off and the laptop died.
