    lg plasma interference from blackberry.

Last november my lg 50 lost picture and sound and most of the icons in the menu bar i discussed it on the forum with several suggestions of the cause, in the end i took it to my dealer who managed to fix it with the engineers remote, but could not explain what had caused it,
I have recently noticed evertime my daughter recieves a text message or sends one it interferes with the tv, if its within a couple of feet of it the picture and sound breaks up, Question, can the interference from a cell phone damage a tv or has anyone had a similar problem

I've noticed that cell phones using GSM interfere a lot with audio products. While I've never had picture break up I have had buzzing and beeping noise when my phone is withing a few feet of a speaker. This happens in my car as well, if I have weak signal strength the phone will interfere with my car stereo. I have only had the happen with GSM phones and not with a CDMA based one.

my blackberry curve did it, so did my friends and my current Galaxy S Captivate also does it.

All GSM phones interfere with nearby electronics, causing the tell-tale buzzing noises and occasionally video interference as well. Altho, i haven't heard of a phone corrupting the EEPROM of a device (which is apparently what happened in your case).

Sounds like bad RFI shielding in the TV, or a ground loop in its mainboard. Design flaw. Guess nobody was busy texting on their phone when they prototyped it.

      A working TV? How boring!

I have a galaxy which seems to have no affect, just seems to be the blackberry but to be safe iwill be keeping both away from the tv
