    LG 42PC1R start-up problems

Set tries to start up VS and VA supplies. Appears to trig overcurrent protection, mains relays keeps clicking.
Disconnecting BOTH Y-SUS and X-SUS makes powersupply run OK. Disconnecting only one of the SUS boards doesn't help, doesn't matter which. Problem is both Y and X seems to be fine. Measured across the IPM's without finding any short. Perhaps there are failures in the IPM's that doesn't show until power is applied. So obviously both SUS boards are bad, seems to be a longshot though.

PSU operates fine without Y and X sus boards connected, so the psu AC detect should be ok,

Not always - if the line voltage is low because of a lot of load from the sustains, it might be dropping out. Check it with meter.

          Re: LG 42PC1R start-up problems

I've been digging into the AC detect circuitry. The primary AC detection is made pretty close to the mains inlet (of course) and that circuit is driving an optocoupler to interface with the microcontroller located on the secondary side of the powersupply. When measuring at the optocoupler itself, the AC detect signal is stable and not in sync with the powersupply restarting behaviour. BUT, on one of the ribbon connectors, a pin named AC-D, that signal is in sync with the restarting behaviour. For fun, I shorted the optocoupler output trying to simulate a fake AC detect signal, but that did no difference. I even removed the opto, but then set will not even try to start (since it's not sensing any AC of course).
If letting the supply restart for a while, can eventually make the restart frequency lower, in other words, longer time of operation, but the screen wasn't looking good, lots of maldischarge in the bottom of the screen (and the rest of the screen all dark) so there are some problem with this dude perhaps in the Y-sustain.
Still strange it would restart no matter which of the Y and X boards connected.

laptop hp g72 b52sf screen problems
            by jean luc ferre
            Hello,
on this laptop hp g72 b52sf i have screen problems as you can see with the photo joined in attachments.
the used graphic card is "intel hd graphics" and the id of the integrated screen is : "monitor/SEC3354".
i verified the driver of the pΓ©ripherals and they are ok. i verified the definition and settings of the graphic card and of the screen : definition 1600x900 and refreshment frequency :60hz. (they are the sames for the graphic card and the screen).
i don't understand the reasons of the white stripe at the bottom of the screen below the task...

            Gigabyte 1070Ti startup problems
            by nrs250
I am having trouble diagnosing a 1070Ti that will get to the windows desktop, then reboot and not make it back to the desktop.

When checking power rails I have:
            12V
            5
            3.3
            1.80
occasionally 1.0V but this is intermittent and since this is the PEX rail I assume that dropout of this rail takes the GPU down and crashes the card.

No shorts on any of the other rails.
Resistance is 60 ohms on the 1.0 rail.

            I am investigating the uP1728Q.
I have confirmed that it is getting 3.3V at Vin on Pin3, 5V from 5V Rail...

            USB problems?
            by Hondaman
Recently I discovered my SSD died (OCZ/Toshiba 240 GB). It was in a USB enclosure, attached to the Linksys WRT-AC1200 router. Since then I removed the USB enclosure and attached it to my Win7 PC (AMD 8150 CPU, 970 chipset, 64 GB RAM). I also gathered one or two other USB enclosures to figure out what is going on.

(I suspect that I lost quite a few MP3 and FLAC files I recently ripped from my audio CDs, I think I lost very little un-replaceable stuff.)

I think it is IMPOSSIBLE for Win7 to have any problems with a USB enclosure as long as Win7 knows how to speak to the...

Lenovo 11e problems (any sata hdds are not recognized, sleep battery drain)
            by clabr
Need help to solve some problems with this laptop.

After working in bed with it one night and heating up too much (probably the cause of this problems) the sata HDD OS windows froze
After restart the original Sata HDD was not recognized anymore (but works fine in other laptops or PCs)

Tried connecting other good Sata 2.5 HDDs but not one is working in this laptop anymore (not the original nor others)

Before this had happened I observed some other problems:
When I tried replacing original mecanical HDD with a SSD HDD could not get them...

Lenovo Thinkpad E14 Gen3 stuck on "To interrupt normal startup, press Enter" screen
            by BMCappelletti
            Hi everyone.
Lenovo Thinkpad E14 Gen 3, stuck on the "To interrupt normal startup, press Enter" screen.
Found a lot of people with this issue, but with no definitive answer. Some people managed to get away accessing BIOS, going to Startup and turning off "Option Key Display". For me that only removed the interrupt normal start up message, leaving only the Lenovo logo.
Most people say hitting Enter does not work. It's true, if you wait a few seconds. But if you hit Enter right away you get the options to enter BIOS (which works), run diagnostics (goes to a...
