Got the power going fine, but no luck with the address failure; it's one of the ICs which is bonded to the panel which has failed, hence meaning the only fix is a new panel (not economical.) I haven't spent too much on it so I should be able to sell it for parts, but it sucks that Pioneer would engineer it like this.

As long as you manage to get your money back on it thats the main thing and if you sell the main parts thats even better as its still keeping it from the landfill site.
the address failure do you mean the issues with the picture on the screen?

The address failure causes a 2" wide white bar on the screen. It is caused by the PDP driver ICs on the X of the screen failing on the far right. They are bonded and epoxied straight to the ribbon, essentially making them unreplacable. I don't know why they couldn't go on the X buffer boards.

i get you know pity though i wonder if the person who sold it to you knew it had this problem or could the bad power supply cause this?

I suspect they knew the problem existed but didn't care (may have just put tape on that side, as it is still a perfectly watchable 49" TV with that) but then the PSU went wrong. He seemed honest, it has been in his garage for about a year as the technician he contracted couldn't fix it, or maybe he gave it a go himself, who knows.

Scrapped it, saved the bits, threw the panel out the window and took it to the skip. (Stress reduction!) The plastic screen contained all the bits.

Pioneer Plasma 111FD To Solder or Not to Solder.
                      by pixelcap
Hello out there in Badcap land.

I have a Pioneer plasma that gave me the dreaded 8 red blink and shutdown, I have been trying to trace the failure points. On my last inspection while replacing a Y Sustain Board I noticed on the original and replacement board some missing solder, the points of connection
are from the Digital Address Board and the Buffer Boards. I have included the pictures, should I resolder these points or are they unsoldered intentionally? Any help would be much appreciated.

                      Thank you

Pioneer PRO-FHD1 Elite Plasma Monitor Start-Up Problem
                      by Phil Stasik
Pioneer Pro-FHD1 Elite. Failure to power on.

I'm new to this awesome forum, and have been reading like mad, but have not seen the answer to my challenge.

We bought this Panasonic plasma monitor 16 years ago and it has never been serviced, so all parts are original, and the unit has never malfunctioned -- until about a month ago. The system fails to power on. At first (a month ago) this happened rarely. We learned to unplug for a few minutes to drain the caps, then re-plug, and the monitor would start normally. Now, we plug-in, turn on the main power switch, and the...

Pioneer PL-X9 motor speed control wobble
                      by Bushcat
I'm starting to re-cap a Pioneer PL-X9 turntable, specifically the motor control board, because although everything tests out OK according to the service manual, the speed wavers slightly despite the quartz lock light remaining on. So, I've decided to re-cap that board since it's the cheapest next step...

Pioneer's passive component naming convention is clear to me. For example, CSZA R22M 35 is tantalum, radial leads, 0.22uF, 20%, 35V.

BUT there are two capacitors on the board which have actual Pioneer part numbers: PCL-042. I can tell they are 0.1uF, 16V but don't...

[Help Needed] Yatour YT-M06 (Pioneer 1) – Firmware or Schematic Request
                      by EduCabral
                      Hi everyone,

I'm currently working on reviving a Yatour YT-M06 CD Changer Emulator module for use with a Pioneer 1 interface (specifically with a DEH-P5950IB head unit).

While the unit is recognized as a CD changer, none of the USB, SD, or AUX features respond, which leads me to believe the firmware may be corrupted or incompatible.

                      🔧 Details:
                      • Model: YT-M06
                      • Interface: Pioneer 1
                      • MCU: Fujitsu MB89F202
                      • Goal: Find a valid .bin firmware file or memory dump from a working unit

I'm happy to attempt flashing, analyzing memory dumps, or doing hardware-level...

Has anyone had any experience with with pioneer plasma panels, this one is in an NEC PX-42XR4G and it powers up for around ten seconds then goes into standby with a red led on digital board flashing six times and refuses to power up !...
