You can replace the caps on the MC201 ane MC301 with a surface mount cap.
Can't post a link yet. But if you go to AVSforum/Plasma Flat Panel Display. Then the (Master thread for Panasonic plasma not turning on). Start at the end of the thread and work backward. I made the 10 blink fix on a 50pz80u.Comment

Hey folks. I'm new here and pretty new to electronic tinkering. Please excuse my rookie status and forthcoming ignorant questions.
That said, I picked up a Panasonic TH 46PZ85U with the 2 red blink as described. I've removed the back, tested voltage first at P7 1 to determine a faulty P board, then tested resistance on mc 201 and 301. 301 seems faulty so I plan to order and replace both 201 and 301 just to make sure my bases are covered.
Here's the problem: I've never done this before and I want to make sure I do it right. Where can I find a step by step tutorial for desoldering the bad caps and rsoldering on the new ones?

I did this fix when I had the 10 blink issue, and it did work, but I am still not getting any video and the power light is solid.
I can see the backlights turning on and it appears the TV IS on. But yet still no video display. I have also replaced the D-Board and I get the same thing.
Any other thoughts ?Comment

Hello everyone,
In a tough spot I have a TH-42Px75u panasonic display. I have the 2 blink issue. Where tv is in stand by, I turn it on and the led turn green as if it powers on and stays blank. Blank meaning no black light or power. Then a few seconds later it turns off and blinks twice.
What I have done. I've replaced the power supply to no avail still does the same thing. Now after reading a lot of post I read that the d board could be the issue.
On a side note. I tried testing out the d board to see if it could be the issue. Here's what happened. I disconnect the connection leading out of the d board and leave the power supply hooked up. When I go to start the tv it power on an stays on but picture or back light of any sorts. If I disconnect the power from the d board and try to power tv on it won't power on at all not even a stand by red led.
Any help? Not to knowledgeable but can replace a part or solder in a part. Help!!! Thanks hope to get a reply.Comment

Okay, so I'm apparently a klutz... Can someone give me a solution to my problem. I accidentally desoldered and lost the highlighted capacitor in the picture. What can I do if there is no hope for finding it? Can I buy a new one? or a new MC301 board?
I would be forever grateful for a response...

Not a capacitor. It's a resistor. Your only hope is someone with an MC201/301 board that someone can use to check the value of that resistor.

I have Vizio VP504 with this PSU. It doesn't throw a blink code. When you plug it in, the amber VIZIO led lights up (it may dim somewhat after lighting up) and that's it. No reaction to button presses or anything. I've read on AVS that this vizio was fixed by swapping the cap (do I really need to swap the IC too?) on the MC301 and MC201 board.
I'm going to order up the stuff and do it to see.
Kinkose, did you ever find out what you needed to about that resistor? Is that something I can do for you with a regular DMM? Let me know. ThanksComment

Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

Bought this TV used not working, panel flashed briefly on power up and it was blinking 8 times, a quick look on SS board revealed a common fault on the 3uF 250V capacitors, C201 to C205 (C1620X in the service manual), the solder joints were all cracked, C201 and C205 pins were darkened and some sparking had occurred on them, C201 was split open and clearly overheated in its last hours, replaced that one and resoldered the others, 8 blinks fixed.
Also the previous owner broke the antenna connector by taking the TV out of the wall mount forgetting to unplug it, I desoldered the tuner... -

anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults... -

Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.
Model number is TH-50PZ85U
Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.
Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.
I also hear a few clicks.
I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.

As the title states, I followed the troubleshooting guide located here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/23...page=53#manual, which concluded the 'A' board needs to be replaced. Looking around the net and eBay, I see that there are repair services for the board (TNPH1043UE? Not sure if it is a 'UE' as the suffix grid does not appear marked). What additional troubleshooting can be performed to ensure 1) this board is the problem and 2) since there are repair services, what are they fixing on the board?) I expected 3.3V not to be available anywhere...
