BR is usually tested using resistance or diode checker. Examples on Youtube
        One is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqkT6...ayer_embedded#!

If you were voltage checking across end pins , on this shaped BR this is usually the DC Output the AC in is usually the middle two.

If you use the ohms checker ( Power OFF) it is unlikely it will be no reading (as in Video)
as in circuit the result is affected by other components, however you should see a notable difference in the readings when you swap leads over.
If you post the results someone will advise if they are ok.

Hi, can anyone point me on the road to finding this fault, as stated I am a newbee and understanding the route of the electronics is apparently hard for me if I am not getting the value at the output to the main board how do I check track to find where it stops. Thanks again for any assistance

We are all trying to help you but you are not helping yourself. You keep jumping from one thing to another - changing to a non matching board then swapping components about means we have no idea what you have done or if any more damage has been caused.
You need to get back to the point where you had a power board that provided the steady 5 VOLTs at the connector and post a GREAT picture of the back of the board so we can look for damage.
You need to answer our questions - you have posted since I asked you to test the bridge rectifier but you have not said if you have done the test or posted the results. - You may have lost the interest of those helping in the original posts or even annoyed them - starting a new post saying the person you were in contact with had been some time?
Most of the members have jobs, college, families and life which impacts on this totally free unpaid service which they provide, and they are not always available. If the thread is structured and easy to follow others will pick it up and try and help but if it is a mess they will just move on to another thread.

My understanding is that following the initial 5v from the power board to the main board a signal voltage comes back from the main board to turn on the rest of the voltages to the connector.

As the original damage was to the Scart a fuse may have blown on the main board
but we need GREAT pictures of both sides of the main board to stand a chance.

              Windows 11 buying advice needed

My mother may soon need to upgrade from Win7 (to continue safe browsing, e-mail, and office tasks, without a printer). Right now, she uses an Intel Core2Quad 9550 CPU (not sure of motherboard). Video is either the Radeon 6670 or 6770, completely air-cooled, with fins like a motorcycle engine (I think I pointed a 120mm fan at it). PSU is probably Seasonic, still running after 14 years (I choose quality). I am not sure of the RAM, or the PCI-e wifi chip. Probably 8 GB or 16 GB. Perfect for WIndows 7.

She does not want to switch to Linux. And she does not want to use a laptop because...

TV Samsung UE55HU8500L (2014) – service menu + firmware reflashing advice needed
              by Robby-Gr
              Hi all,

I’m trying to recover a Samsung UE55HU8500L (curved UHD, 4K model from 2014) after replacing the panel. The new panel is a 55A1UU8EH, which produces excellent image quality — very close to the original.

However, since the swap, the TV enters a boot loop (Samsung logo → restart) unless I enter the service menu and perform a reset.

The service mode had been previously modified — possibly by a technician or during the panel swap — and I suspect some key settings are mismatched for the European (Greece) market.

              Additional issues:...

Hi. I can't upgrade to win11 I think it's because my BIOS is without Secure Boot function. The BIOS version is R0180Z9. Can you please advise if it is possible to upgrade BIOS to UEFI for this laptop. Many thanks....

Advice needed-Technika 32-207 works but sticks on channel, won’t change channels ok
              by rustinjust
My tv will work for a while and change channels with the remote as it should but then it will stick on one channel only and work ok but it won't change channels. I have tried unplugging it for hours and whilst unplugged pressing the power button on the tv to reset it.

The volume button on the remote still works but it just won't change channels once it decides to stick on one channel

It has built in basic freeview tv here in the uk, I've tried doing an automatic search to reset the tv but nothing works.

I have to turn the tv off and then on again with...

              A1466 i7 2.2 Ghz Upgrade Advice needed
              by Lobell
              Dear All,

I am trying to breathe new life into my wife's 2015 Macbook Air (1.6 Ghz / 4 GB RAM) by upgrading the logic board to an i7 2.2 Ghz with more RAM.

That's when the advert below caught my eye: 16GB on the i7 A1466 - that's double what Apple originally put on.

I know that this is technically feasible, but has anyone made experiences with it?
Do you know and rate the vendor, Yopolean? I am ignorant and don't know them.
How did the performance turn out?

I hope this is an appropriate question for this forum.
