    Re: Atlas 37AV500U popping sound

I will open up other 1080p TVs that I have and I will check how many ribbon cables do they have. I have three right now, not counting the Sony.

Clarification: The Toshiba I opened, I didn't get access to T-con, so I don't know if that had 4, but the Philips did.

        Re: Atlas 37AV500U popping sound

I have signed up on another forum(Texas Instruments=ti) to ask some questions about the popping issue.
This is the answer that I have received so far:
"Most likely, the cause of the pop is mismatched inputs on the inputs of our amplifier."
        I don't understand it.

This might indicate a problem with the chip that feeds the amplifier IC.

I would like to hear alternate ideas on how to fix this issue.
I was thinking to buy a small amplifier and hook up the amplifier to the original amplifier inputs and disable the original amplifier.
Or buy a cheap sound bar and hook it up to the RCA outputs.
            Or replace the mainboard.
Which one do you think would be the best option?

Looks good. You may need to remove and re-mount that cap horizontally to fit it in the TV.

                  Re: Atlas 37AV500U popping sound

Yesterday a did some more testing on this TV with my PC speakers.
I have used a RCA to 3.5 adapter and I plugged it into the Audio out RCA plug and turned it on. I can hear a slight turn on "pop"(very quite not sure if it can be called pop).
I'm wondering it that is normal or I shouldn't hear anything? I'm thinking that it shouldn't be there, because that little sound gets amplified by the Amplifier and it becomes a loud pop.
I will have to check on another TV if that sound is there.

From where is comming the volume adjustment, mute in a TV?
If I dissable the original amp(do not supply power to it) and intall a separate amp connected to +/- and use the input from the original input from the TV, it will work?
I will lose the Mute function with this setup?

It's safe to unplug the speaker connector from the amp and leave it like that?
I'm thinking to unplug the speakers and use some computer speakers with the TV and sell it like that. I have found some Logitech 2.1 speakers for $22.xx.
I will most likely upgrade the sound with this set of speakers?
                      Any input would be appreciated.

I ended up buying a Logitech S220 2.1 PC speaker system from Amazon for $22.xx and a RCA to female 3.5mm adapter and the TV sounds much better on the buyers furniture.
Yes I have sold it today for $240.

A 37" for 240? that is about the max i would hope to get. So you did pretty well.
Fixed so far 12 lcd's , 1 plasmas, 5 monitors, 0 dlp's (plan to keep the dlps at 0). and 3 atx power supplies, and 2 motherboards.

The TV was $60+$23 speakers and max $10 for capacitors+ some gas= $100, so $140 profit.
I have just sent the money to Mike in Russia to get the ESR meter, so the $10 in the future will be much less.

Congratulation, I am surprised you can get that much for 37", in my bay area, I will be lucky to sell 37" for $200, and now you also have the SONY 4150 with the new lamp, you are doing well! Nice job.

                                    Good day ladies and gentleman!

I am currently trying to repair a Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB LCD TV for a friend that has a weird audio problem. Basically everything works fine except for the heavily distorted sound when the Subwoofer module is connected and there is a buzzing sound coming from the PSU PCB.

This seems to be a rather rare TV so there is not much prior on topic help to be found however a service manual is available at the usual sources (Electro Tanya i.e.).

I think the PSU buzzing comes from one of the coils near the bridge rectifier but...

Hello I have a Marantz SR5012 7.1 AV receiver that is producing speaker pop and other sound issues. These sounds are coming out of all connected speakers regardless if they are configured to be used. The rca preouts are clean from these defects so I am assuming the problem has to be with the amplifier.
These sound issues are random and unpredictable. There are times where the unit can go 10 minutes without any problems then suddenly the problems come back. It doesn't seem to matter if there is sound being played or not.

I have disassembled the unit and was able to take out the...
