    Service manual:

    Page 58.

Red LED flashing two times indicates MR-AC power off (media receiver power off.) This probably indicates a fault with the AC detect, PFC stage or perhaps another part of the power supply. It may also indicate a media receiver fault.

I love Pioneer stuff. You need to find a Pioneer 5090 to fix and keep Tom they are awesome!
Fixed so far : 1 Home cinema system, 16 LCD Monitors, 4 LCD TV's

I haven't yet fixed a Pioneer or a Sony. Both I am looking out for. I also want a Panasonic LCD - after fixing a Panasonic plasma as I've seen how well they are built.

Why don't you see if you can get this one nice and cheap! He has listed it twice. I would have it if I lived closer.

Use Manage Attachments to add pictures.

Click "Get Manual" after about 30 seconds, appears near bottom of page.

Nope, I'd look at the media box. Do you have the whole set?

It is because your pics exceed the restrictions below. Use manage attachments.

If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.

We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.

Obviously, first step check all supply voltages to media box.

How does the media box connect to TV? Does TV have any inputs on rear, or is it just one IO cable between media box and TV?

I have my own shed, dedicated to TVs...

Okay one DVI and one PanelLink cable. Fun, custom interfaces.

                                      Check for good supply voltages - 3.3V, 6.5V, 12V, 17V.

Read service manual troubleshooting flowchart... follow all the steps.

Especially check the AC detect signal.

Plug the DVI output into a DVI monitor if you have one available... check if you get video.

If no DVI monitor use a DVI-HDMI cable and plug into a HDMI TV.

Read service manual troubleshooting flowchart... follow all the steps.

Especially check the AC detect signal.

Plug the DVI output into a DVI monitor if you have one available... check if you get video.

If no DVI monitor use a DVI-HDMI cable and plug into a HDMI TV.
If i press both tv & receiver box power buttons at same time the tv led is solid red(standby) & receiver both green & red both solid..took measurements from receiver box & voltages seem to be correct on all boards...cant test the leads got no other source to try on..does it sound like tv at fault & not receiver..thx
The AC detect pin being 2.690vdc does that seem to high??

I have an older Pioneer receiver (VSX-44) that's been dropping the HDMI output (black screen) for a few seconds every few minutes. Setup is HTPC -> Pioneer DVD HCMI in -> Pioneer HDMI out -> Samsung TV HDMI in, all with cheap HDMI cables that have never caused trouble before..

I initially found a lot of play in the receiver's HDMI inputs and output so I kind of squeezed them back into shape and they're making a tighter connection, but the problem persists.

And also, often, the HDMI will drop out in exactly the same way (black screen) just as my central air...

Hello out there in Badcap land.

I have a Pioneer plasma that gave me the dreaded 8 red blink and shutdown, I have been trying to trace the failure points. On my last inspection while replacing a Y Sustain Board I noticed on the original and replacement board some missing solder, the points of connection
are from the Digital Address Board and the Buffer Boards. I have included the pictures, should I resolder these points or are they unsoldered intentionally? Any help would be much appreciated.

                                          Thank you

Hello. My receiver "seems" to be working fine. It functions as it should. the receiver is the Pioneer vsx-1123. However, while doing some work in the house, I noticed that my HDMI cable from the receiver was registering as "hot" using my fluke non-contact voltage tester.

I've done some troubleshooting to try to narrow down the problem, and all wires (speaker/hdmi/subwoofer) coming from the receiver, whether it's powered on or stand-by, register as "hot". none of my other receivers are experiencing this issue, so it doesn't seem to be an issue with...

Pioneer VSX-3300 Receiver Wont Power On

Have a colleagues Pioneer VSX-3300, it wont power on, hasnt for a number of years, but just now trying to figure out what's going on with it.

It has 120V input and I have followed that 120V to a small board that appears to have a small transformer and a relay among a few other components I dont think the relay is changing state which I believe turns on the receiver, but this is all speculation.....

I have downloaded the repair guide, which I have attached to this post, but I am having a hard time following it.... Can someone please offer any advice on what to check?...

I am a hobbyist (not a professional) so please be gentle...

I recently received an XR-77A80J that wouldn't turn on. (Repeating 5 flashes when plugged in.)

I did a hard reset by holding the power button for about 30 seconds until the set powered down. I then tried to turn it on and it powered up, bringing me to the setup screen. There's not a lot of detail on the setup screen but the picture didn't have any distortions, so at least a cursory examination suggests no physical damage to the screen. The set appeared to be working normally, but it shut down after about 15 seconds,...
