no, with a spray can. duster spray held up side down sprays cold air.
or hair dryer for hot air.

what when the tv's on? i could try the hair dryer to see if it speeds the process up, but i will wait for caps first

Re: Vizio VX42LHDTV10A weird white semi circles

well changed caps on power supply, and re-tested first picture is when first turned on and second is 4 minutes later

im thinking the lcd that ive fitted is the problem because the tv which had the bad screen had very little use and the guy i got it off said there were no marks like that before the screen got damaged so the only part ive fitted out the doner tv was the actual lcd screen, but i can live with it, dont really fancy putting a hair dryer to it, also when ive gone through HDMI from computer i can see patchs on the lcd (only on a desktop light background) so im guessing its had a lot of use so this could be why, shame the guy who i bought the lcd off didnt tell me about it

ill probably get my money back with selling the bits from the doner tv, ive managed to repair the other power board and the main boards tested ok, so fingers crossed with the stand as well i should get £80 for the lot.

if it gets worse over time ill probably try and get another doner for the screen again

I have the same tv just replaced the caps and after I turned it on it had the same thing only lasted about 2 minutes then went away and has never came back.Maybe having it screen down has something to do with it when fixing it.

cant be to sure because i never saw the screen that i fitted working as the donar tv was faulty, but im currently in the process of getting another donar tv cheap, but this time ill fix it first then remove the screen if its decent

the white marks dont come up on mine any more, but on a light back ground you can see where they are because the screen is slightly darker there

maybe its just down to the tv having a lot of use and poor lcd quality, or maybe just a bad batch of screens

when i come to remove the screen again i will see if i can fix it or investigate further and post what i find

                  Hello,

Does anyone have any more info about this problem? I have a 42" Vizio that has the same five semi circles across the top when turned on. Over about 20-30 minutes they seem to spread out and merge together, then eventually disappear.

Its how LG/Vizio LCD displays age with older unit, there is no fix or any rhyme or reason as to why but they go way when the Panel is on for more then 5-10 minutes.

I have had 2 LG panels and 2 Vizio LCD panels do this and sold them all and they are still working fine. Its a strange defect for sure.

Maybe the Tab bonds are causing to much heat and causing issues to the LCD layers /shrug.

                      by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                      Assuming...

                      Hi.

picked up another TV. This time is a Vizio M65-C1. TV does not turn on. I had repaired another 60 inch vizio , Bad main board.
When power button is pressed, the Power led indicator on the bottom right, turns for a few seconds and then it fades away. No backlight or Vizio logo on screen. Removed back cover and repeated test.
This is the TV This TV is a little different from the Samsung I have worked on. Power supply is on the Left side, Main Bd is on the right side, T-CON , not in the picture is on the bottom. I am assuming that the boards in the middle are the LED...

Vizio M65Q7-H1 Red Vertical Strips fixed by tape blocking LC1 signal to half of the panel

                      Failure Symptom

No picture, just red vertical stripes. Google search shows quite common problem for these recent Vizio M series although red vertical stripe pattern may differ. Some call it "Netflix" boot screen haha.

                      Where is the short?

Panel has 4x buffer boards. Quickly found the 1/4 panel buffer board with the problem by selectively disconnecting buffer board flex cables.

Having recently fixed another Vizio with similar symptoms that was a shorted ESD diode array ( link ) Probed the ESD diode array but...

                      ViZIO M70-D3 Completely Dead (Weird!)
                      by goofykao@yahoo.com
Hi, Just joined this forum hoping to fix this TV.

Sorry for the long post to explain the problem in details.

Model: VIZIO M70-D3, 4 years old

What happened: TV had no issue at all and one day just died (4 weeks ago) and NO LED stand-by light (usually it's Red at bottom left front side)

Current status: Cannot power on and NO LED stand-by light

Strategy: Since I am not good at fixing boards at component level, it's better for me to just replace boards with known good ones
