Ok. perfect. thats what I needed to know, So I'm at least in the right place and moving in the right direction. I tested a little bit more last night and found this....The tv only has issues when its unplugged and plugged back in, OR when the Surge protector is turned off. As long as the power isn't disurupted at the source in anyway, it seems to be o.k.

I would check the line filter or the power connector... bbjunkie seems to have found a plasma with a faulty one, they are reasonably cheap.

It will take me a bit to hit all the joints. But ill get it done. And what should i be looking for on the filter? Power connecter literally being where the plug comes in or?? Sorry for my electrical eptitude. Im more of a car guy, but luckily smart enough to feel i can do this.

Check if the voltage coming out of the line filter drops out when the picture goes blank.

The screen never goes blank really.. If its on, its on. It only has a problem when it warms up and you either unplug it or turn off the surge protector. In which case, it doesn't "click" when you plug it back in, it just sits. After a period of time to "cool" it will turn back on without issue.

Redid the major spots on the board. seemed to work....or so I thought. still having an issue with it wanting to not "click" when I unlug it directly, or shut the power strip off.

Hmm. I had this problem on an LG Plasma except it would always click on/off and never wanted to stay on once it was on... first I thought it was bad caps but even after replacing them it was still stuck clicking... so I narrowed it down to the AC Detect pin on the power supply. Check this pin, it should be 5V when power is plugged in and 0V with no power.

Today, i have nothing. No power. I have the red LED light up front telling me I'm getting power in, but as far as the rest. Nothing, no clicks, no sounds no screen nothing. Now what?

How are the output voltages in the fault condition?

It sounds a lot like bad caps or a bad solder joint.

Well the time came where I just dropped this one off at the shop. Thanks for all the help guys. I simply just couldn't devote the time to this like I wanted. Work and school consumed me and it fell to the wayside. Again thanks for all the help. and Hopefully I can try again later. I'll post what the shop tells me upon its return.

Ah well. They will come back with a quote for far more than it's worth. Sell it on eBay or craigslist or gumtree.

Is it fixed? I think they mean main board but they could also mean T-con board (plasma TVs have T-con boards too but they are less prone to failing.)

I have same TV with no Picture problem.TV is on and You can hear sound but screen is blank no back light
