Digital Lifestyles 32" LCD TV blown component on PS board identification.

I hope I'm posting this in the right forum. I garbage picked a Digital Lifestyles 32" lcd tv the other day. Symptom is no power at all. No standby light. I'm sorta weak with this stuff. I have replaced blown caps on monitors, motherboards and other tv's with pretty good success, but that's about the extent of it. I found a burnt component on the PS. I guess you call it a mosfet. My question is can anyone identify by what markings are left on it?
So far I think it may be a Fairchild mosfet. I can see the F and what looks like M 519 and another F 0 3 and maybe a U. That's all I can get.
The TV is made by a company called Corion USA. The model is WT322 and the
TV part# is FA1B-32Z. I have found photos of what's suppose to be the power supply by googling but it looks totally different then what I have. I know it's a cheapy but I've garbage picked three other flatscreen tv's that I was able to fix and have them all in use in my house. My youngest daughter is on the bottom of the list to get one. If I can fix this one she's in like flynn.
I figure this would be the place to ask so anything anyone may be able to add would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

That appears to be part of the PFC circuit. Could I have a picture of that area from the reverse side? I've got an idea that is a diode, not a FET.

Also, there is a 16 or 18 pin IC below and to the left of the largest cap. That is probably the PFC controller, what is the part number?

Here's a couple more photos. A closeup of the 16 pin IC with 6A4T and

Just to confirm it is truly blown (and it most likely is), use the diode test mode on your multimeter. With power off, test it both ways. If it's working, you'll get about 500 one way and OL the other. If it's broken, it will be <100 both ways.

Also, the fuse will have most likely blown if the diode goes, so check that.

The PFC mosfet may be okay (the device to the left of it), but using the 200 ohm range of your meter, check all six combinations of pins (three combinations, both ways.)

The terminal closest to the hole in the device is probably the anode of the diode.

Tom66 I don't really have that much experience using a meter other than continuity. I checked the glass fuse and it's not blown. The way I'm looking at it is if this burnt/cracked mosfet or diode can be identified I can get another or comparable replacement to solder in. Thank you for your help. I appreciate it.

Can you post a picture of your multimeter?

This is the fuse I am talking about, it's ceramic, what does it read? If this hasn't blown - and it doesn't always - the plug fuse may have.

Here's a good replacement for the diode. http://parts.digikey.com/1/parts/211...xa10fp600.html It should be the right way around... but just to make sure, you can ohm out the diode and determine which side was intended to be anode and which is cathode... but you'll need to remove the diode first. Careful, the board has two layers which is easier to damage with too much heat...

Once the diode is removed, it can be tested for shorts.

Ok here's a photo of my crappy meter. I tested the fuse you pointed out and I have continuity on it. The diode broke as seen in the photo coming out, but there's still enough there to get a probe on it. Will this meter be able to test which is anode and which is cathode? Thank you again.

It will be, but it's not necessary. Note the two holes on the board where it was mounted. One of those holes will be connected to the positive lead of the large cap. That is the cathode side. The other will be connected to the winding on the SLP-3026P1 inductor. That is the anode side.

First off I want to thank everyone for trying to help me get this fixed. I appreciate it. I did replace the diode with no luck. Same symptom of no sign of any power. There will always be another one to save from the garbage truck. Thank you again.
                      Take care, Mike

Well, have you considered other options? The blown diode could have taken the PFC controller with it.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                          Hi folks,

I'm new to this forum. So my trusty 17-year-old LG 47" LCD recently died. As I was booting it up, I heard a hum followed by a loud bang, sounds of pieces flying around, and loss of power to the unit. Inspecting the PSU, I saw two obvious problems: a blown thermistor (bang + flung pieces) and a visibly bulging main cap. Inspecting as many components as I could with my Fluke MM, I diagnosed that the following components on the "hot side" of the board were also bad: one of the 2 main MOSFETs, main 8A fuse, small cap (25V 47uF) connected to main caps, and a blown...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't

                          Greetings friends.

I was given this nice little laptop and would like to revive it if possible but i'm stuck identifying blown components. I'm very new to the repair game so i'm proceeding very cautiously.

I don't know the history of this laptop and the donator didn't elaborate what happened but it seems some moisture got into the USB C charge port and the result was what looks like some blown caps. The tell is some gunk inside the USB C port and corrosion on the outside as well as what looks like corrosion around the blown components.

                          Any guidance...

                          Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.
