Re: Samsung LN40A650A1F Vertical Lines (On Input)
I know this thread is old, but I followed Tom66's advice with heating the mainboard processor and a few other areas on the board with a heat gun on low and it fixed my problem of the rebooting when plugged into a input. Thank you very much....

Re: Westinghouse SK-32H240S Continued problems
I received the replacement transformer today and replaced it but unfortunately it did not fix the problem. I followed PlainBill's advice by
testing the CCFL's by unplugging all but one connector and powering it up in
a dark room. I did this for all six connectors and had a flash for each one.
So I assume all six lamps are working. I could see each individual lamp light
up on the screen as well. Same symptoms as described by Xavier Renowned.
Westinghouse logo shows up, goes black, backlights come back...

Re: Samsung LN40A530P1F - Shuts off from time to time
That sounds pretty cool. Mine is a usb fan that has to be plugged in on a separate power source because the only usb port on the tv is the service port and I was afraid to try it out plugged in there. Don't want to chance ruining a board. If you get a chance sometime do you think you could post some sort of instructions how I could wire mine up like you did? For me pictures work the best. I'm pretty limited on my knowledge of this stuff.
Thanks and good luck....

Re: Samsung LN40A530P1F - Shuts off from time to time
I garbage picked this same tv last summer and had a similiar problem. Mine would run for 10-15 minutes then I'd lose the video on it. I recapped the PS with slightly higher voltage on the caps and it "appeared" to be working. A few weeks went by with it working fine and all of a sudden the problem was back. No video but sound was fine. Power it off and back on and it would continue to work. It appears to be a heat issue in my case. I'm going to save up for a refurbed PS. For now I modded a fan into it to blow on the...

Re: Westinghouse SK-32H240S Garbage picked yesterday.
I found this yesterday morning being tossed to the curb. I found this post and I'm glad I did. These forums are always helpful to me when trying to fix a discarded lcd/plasma tv. This was a two seconds to black tv. I saw the three bulging caps right away and thought to myself I'd have it up and running in no time. Then I got a closer look and saw the fried transformer. If I had'nt read this I would've never known about these known issues and just want to say thank you to everyone that posts replies to help out noobs like me when...

Re: Digital Lifestyles 32" LCD TV blown component on PS board identification.
First off I want to thank everyone for trying to help me get this fixed. I appreciate it. I did replace the diode with no luck. Same symptom of no sign of any power. There will always be another one to save from the garbage truck. Thank you again.
Take care, Mike

Ok I ordered this. http://parts.digikey.com/1/parts/211...xa10fp600.html
I'll post a follow up after replacing the diode and hopefully it'll fire up.
Thank you everyone for your help. Much appreciated.

Re: Digital Lifestyles 32" LCD TV blown component on PS board identification.
Ok here's a photo of my crappy meter. I tested the fuse you pointed out and I have continuity on it. The diode broke as seen in the photo coming out, but there's still enough there to get a probe on it. Will this meter be able to test which is anode and which is cathode? Thank you again.

Re: Digital Lifestyles 32" LCD TV blown component on PS board identification.
Tom66 I don't really have that much experience using a meter other than continuity. I checked the glass fuse and it's not blown. The way I'm looking at it is if this burnt/cracked mosfet or diode can be identified I can get another or comparable replacement to solder in. Thank you for your help. I appreciate it.

Digital Lifestyles 32" LCD TV blown component on PS board identification.
I hope I'm posting this in the right forum. I garbage picked a Digital Lifestyles 32" lcd tv the other day. Symptom is no power at all. No standby light. I'm sorta weak with this stuff. I have replaced blown caps on monitors, motherboards and other tv's with pretty good success, but that's about the extent of it. I found a burnt component on the PS. I guess you call it a mosfet. My question is can anyone identify by what markings are left on it?
So far I think it may be a Fairchild mosfet. I can see the F and what looks like M 519 and another F 0 3 and maybe a U. That's all...

Re: Magnavox 19md357b REPAIRED!!!
Hello everyone. This is my first post here. I googled Magnavox 19md357b and found this thread. I garbaged picked this same tv/dvd player combo this past Saturday. Plugged it in, came on for two seconds, saw a green line and heard a noise, then it went blank. This was my third attempt at repairing an lcd monitor or tv. I'm two for three after replacing three bulging and leaking caps.
All three were 1000 uf 10V. I replaced with 1000 uf 16V. A bonus was a dvd still in it of the movie " I love you man". Worked out well for my daughter...
