Sony KDL-26U3000 dead, no standby power.

    Hi Guys,

I've been trying to fix this for a few days. The set has power up to the rectifier D6000, standby by voltage goes from 0 to 1.8 every 10 seconds at pins 1 and 3 of CN6200. If I unplug the harness and measure the standy by voltage at the socket I get 3v gradually cycling to 1.5 every 10 seconds.
Everything seems to check out on the power supply.
Any ideas would be most welcome.

The sets LED's don't flash and it won't power up in any way.

    Thanks !

I think I may have found the problem. I shorted diode D6206 in the stand by section. Fingers crossed that brings it back to life .

Just a follow up on this. Replacing the diode did indeed fix the problem. Original diode was a
      10ERB20.

Glad you fixed it! Was the diode on the secondary or primary of the power supply?

Hi, It was on the primary side of the stand by section, between T6200 and the power on photo coupler . There are 2 others of the same type D6207 and D6202 which I hear are also prone to failing. I replaced the bad one in mine with a BA159.

Wouldn't it make more sense to replace D6207 and D6202 also then?

When a diode like this fails, I guess it could take something a lot more expensive with it.

Were they regular diodes or zener diodes. My power supply also has no standby power and was wondering about them.

hello friends i have same tv on my desk now, mine is that when i power sometime it will come on but sometime will not power on, when i leave it off for some days, it will power on, then after a while if i put it off and power again the green light will just flash and go off, i also noticed on the psu socket CN6200 i dont get stanby on any pin, i will have to plug in CN6400 and CN6401 on the main board before i can get 3.3v stanby, i dont know if that is correct
