    Panasonic TH-42PX25

    Hi all,

New to this forum and looking forward to becoming a contributing member

    My Panasonic Plasma symptoms include
1- "Auto Scan" function goes through it entire routine with no results
Did this test several times Antenna A input was supplied with local DTV antenna (other TV's find 16 to 20 channels) The a strong analog Channel #3 found nothing, tried antenna B input same results
2 - No analog or digital OTA reception However
that said in the PIP mode with an analog channel #3 RF source connected to Antenna "A" a picture appears in the pip without any audio (manually added channel #3)
3- All analog (composite and component) and HDMI inputs function properly

Self check - showed all items "OK" no errors

    About menu displays
    2045004056
    8003037017
    9401013017

Did the "Hold down OK and Power" master reset - no difference

2005 model year - To date never has had any service
Thanks have downloaded the Panasonic Service and training manuals

    Possible firmware issue?
Any and all suggestions sure would be appreciated
    Thanks for the help
    Ken

    Re: Panasonic TH-42PX25

So, the jist is, no signals from the analogue or digital receiver?

I would say you can buy a cheap digital receiver nowadays... but if you want to fix your TV, the best bet might be to look at the main board. Often there is a 33V rail which is used to "bias" the tuner into operating properly; if this goes bad (too low, lower than about 30V) the tuner won't be able to recieve any channels. Before the fault occurred, did you notice it having difficulty with some channels, maybe they were weaker or did not tune, but others worked?

      Tom
Thanks for the quick response - I will check the voltage rail
The TV is hanging high on the wall and is HEAVY - O well todays project

Not exactly no signals - since in the PIP mode with the antenna input as a source displays a good looking picture but without any audio.

I do want to try and keep the set fully operational - the external receiver could be a fall back if all else fails.

Wish I had more info on how and when the tuners started to have their problems. Just last week I tried the DTV tuner for the first time ever. Had been using the analog on on and off but had not looked at it for many months. Found the problem last week when I installed a nice DTV external antenna to get proper HD reception rather than the compressed to death Dish Network for my local channels. The other TV's connected the the distribution system get 16 DTV channels their DTV signal strength meters show excellent signal strength.

Just a thought, Are you sure the tv is set for antenna and not cable? Some do it automatically and some have a separate setting for cable and antenna.

Yes - thanks for the suggestion
There are several choices for both antenna A and antenna B went through them all
Left it on Antenna Only / Antenna A / analog and digital reception
          Same result as above

Advice needed-Technika 32-207 works but sticks on channel, won’t change channels ok
            by rustinjust
My tv will work for a while and change channels with the remote as it should but then it will stick on one channel only and work ok but it won't change channels. I have tried unplugging it for hours and whilst unplugged pressing the power button on the tv to reset it.

The volume button on the remote still works but it just won't change channels once it decides to stick on one channel

It has built in basic freeview tv here in the uk, I've tried doing an automatic search to reset the tv but nothing works.

I have to turn the tv off and then on again with...

Reverse engineering of 18650 4-channel tester
            by spleenharvester
            Hi friends

I have reverse engineered this tester, schematic is attached and is complete except for capacitor values. These testers annoyingly have no model number but they are the ones you find on the first page of just about any website if you type in "18650 4-channel tester". There is also a 2-channel variant and a newer 8-channel variant. They are very cheap (about Β£15) and can measure voltage, current, internal resistance and capacity. They have a multicolour display for all these statistics. They also have terminal blocks so that if you want to use a breakout board...

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
            by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing hereπŸ€”?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting πŸ˜‚.

Marantz pm 6005 right channel not worknig
            by sima112
            Hi guys,
I need a help with my Marantz pm6005. It started to have weaker the right channel a few months ago, than it got back to normal and now it has lost sound completely on the right channel. At the final stage it was loosing the channel for a while and than it returned. After it has disappeared completely I could forced it back by unplugging the source form CD (which I normally use) to phone and back. It would then work for a few minutes and died again. Now it is possible power up and all function works normally (apart the right channel ) on all inputs, except the phone both channel...

            Supermicro X10DAX and Quad Channel
            by Logistics
So my dilemma is that I can't seem to get my board to run in Quad Channel. I have an X10DAX with Dual E5 2690 v3's and originally it had four 16GB sticks of Samsung ECC. Figuring I needed to have a stick for each DIMM1 slot I purchased four more identical sticks of Samsung M393A2G40DB0-CPB. So, now I have eight 16GB sticks for a total of 128GB of RAM. When I install the ram so that Each DIMM1 slots is populated the system will not post even if I clear the CMOS, remove the battery, what-have-you. But according to what I'm reading in the Manual, which is admittedly not very clear, populating each...
