So my wife and I have a t.v. that's having some issues. It is an Insignia Plasma model #42P650A11. At first the picture went bad and the sound was o.k. A few days later the sound stopped working. When I try to power on now the green light on the T-con board at the bottom lights up for a couple seconds, simultaneously I hear a transformer on the power supply click. Then it turns off. Has anyone run into this issue with this model before?

secondly, I would check the output voltages of the Power supply. The correct volgates should be labeled beside the plugs.

Re: Insignia 42" Plasma clicking
That is a plasma tv made by samsung.
Most likely has burned buffers (upper and or lower) and/or faulty y drive board.
Both of these will be found on the left side of the tv (looking at it with the back off).
The buffers are on narrow boards that run vertical on the left edge of the panel.
They plug into the y drive board.
If the y drive board is working (you will hear it running) There could be around 400 volts
at the buffers so don`t touch or get near anything!!!
The buffer chips are about 1 inch square and will have a bead of epoxy around their
parameter.
Inspect these for burns or pin holes.
These are mostly replaced as a set on the samsungs.
A new 50" plasma is 500.00 now
Parts for your tv are around 250.00 new
You can do the math.
