So my wife and I have a t.v. that's having some issues. It is an Insignia Plasma model #42P650A11. At first the picture went bad and the sound was o.k. A few days later the sound stopped working. When I try to power on now the green light on the T-con board at the bottom lights up for a couple seconds, simultaneously I hear a transformer on the power supply click. Then it turns off. Has anyone run into this issue with this model before?

secondly, I would check the output voltages of the Power supply. The correct volgates should be labeled beside the plugs. -
Re: Insignia 42" Plasma clicking
That is a plasma tv made by samsung.
Most likely has burned buffers (upper and or lower) and/or faulty y drive board.
Both of these will be found on the left side of the tv (looking at it with the back off).
The buffers are on narrow boards that run vertical on the left edge of the panel.
They plug into the y drive board.
If the y drive board is working (you will hear it running) There could be around 400 volts
at the buffers so don`t touch or get near anything!!!
The buffer chips are about 1 inch square and will have a bead of epoxy around their
parameter.
Inspect these for burns or pin holes.
These are mostly replaced as a set on the samsungs.
A new 50" plasma is 500.00 now
Parts for your tv are around 250.00 new
You can do the math.Comment

Symptoms:
The TV turned itself off, and I haven't been able to turn it back on. The standby voltage was unstable and lower than it should be.
A weak clicking sound was coming from the transformer.
Video with clicking sound:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAduhjNtqCA
Progress:
After the transformer, I measured four Schottky diodes. DM862C and DM864C diodes readings were 003 in both directions. After detaching them from the circuit and measuring them, DM864C was the shorted one. These Schottky diodes are SB550.I... -
by slimmy182Hello, I bought this Mac from a friend, he said that it simply stop working. The MacBook looks very clean but does not power on, stuck on 5v 0.42A, and sometimes display 5V and 0A (then 0.071A and again 0A).
I opened it looking for some problem, it was not touched before for sure and the board is very clena, no spot of corrosion at all from what I can see. Voltage on multimeter of the board off the case it's the same, 5V 0.42A. But then I noticed this "clicking sound" come from the board ( I attached here the audio file).

so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!!
what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!
i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...-

by SolvikHello
i have a older powersupply from XFX that makes this wierd electronic ticking /clicking noise. Its not the fan thats making the sound. See video below. Is anyone familiar with what component this sound can come from?

by nbnbI have a Vizio VO47L FDHTV30A. The picture works well, but the sound only works through the RCA output jacks. The sound does not work through the internal speakers or the headphone jack. The TV has a rapid clicking sound when the tv is on that occurs about 4 times per second. The clicking sound volume is fairly low and is not affected by adjusting the internal speaker volume level. The clicking occurs whether or not I disable the internal speaker through the Vizio setup menu. The clicking only occurs while the TV is on.
Any idea what is causing the clicking sound? Any easy way to... - Loading...
