Ok, I got this Vizio L32 HDTV10A for dirt cheap($10) and the problem is a blown cap on the Power Supply (Delta DPS-199ap a Revison:S2). If I knew the exact ratings for the blown cap, I would repair it instantly. Please someone direct me to a schematic drawing of the Power Supply and/or if you know the value of hand. Thanks in advance.....

Hope these are better pictures.....I inspected the whole power supply board and the other components of the TV and they seem fine....Wish there was a more complete service manual of the Vizio L32 HDTV10A.....Comment

That looks more like someone cut it off... because ceramic caps do not just disappear like that with two little stubs of wire left.
If it really did explode, there should at least be fragments of it lying around.Comment

I agree with b700029, unless you trimmed off the lead and there were more parts of it lying around, it looks like this was cut out deliberately.
It looks like this is part of the gate drive circuitry for the main SMPS. With the part numbers of the SMPS controller and the power FET we may be able to make an educated guess for the proper value.
Schematics for Vizios are hard to find. Many TV manufacturers turn to a subcontractor to design and provide the power supplies, schematics for those supplies are very hard to find.

I got the TV non functioning. It did look like it blew up, only a quarter part of the cap was left and I couldn't find the rest of it, with at least a label on it.Comment

You might try sending the e-Bay seller a message. Explain to him your issue and ask him if he could either take a close up picture of the part and e-mail it to you or if he would read the information on the component in question. Hopefully you can get a response.Comment

I was thinking about that. I give it a try. Otherwise, I'll probably buy it if the seller isn't willing to do that.Comment

Don't buy a non working board for $18, wait a week for it, and still have the problem. If you just spend exactly $40 more ($50 Price $8.50 Shipping), you can get a working board. Just slap it in and go with it.

I've seen working one's for $40 to $70, but most of them are out of stock, if not all. There's ones that are $100 to $110, which is not what I want to spend. I would like to get the TV working asap, but I might just have to play the waiting game for it....Comment

That's for a "DPS-199ap b" model, the one I'm looking for is "DPS-199ap a"...Thanks for looking for me, really appreciate it....The power supply I have has a part # of 0500-0507-0180. I post the Revision wrong, it's S2, not just 2.....Last edited by 209ITek; 11-02-2011, 04:14 AM.Comment
