Re: Samsung LNS3241D - No picture, sound and backlight OK
Thank You Bill.
I did not know how to isolate the problem between the main board and Tcon. Is there a preferred place to purchase the Tcon board? Any places i should stay away from? Should i get the cable too?
If it makes a difference, I did measure a few voltages on the LVDS connector on the main board side (ones that i could get to). All measured referenced to frame ground, VDC:
AO1; 1.159
A1-; 1.186
GND; 0
A2+; 1.235
CLK-; 1.156
GND; 0
A3+; 1.167
NC; 0
NC; 0
GND; 0
PANEL_V; 5.36
PANEL_V; 5.36
PANEL_V; 5.36
Thanks again.

Fixed Samsung T-cons before, the fuse often blows, but the board is cheap anyway. You problem doesn't really sound like a fuse though.Leave a comment:

Re: Samsung LNS3241D - No picture, sound and backlight OK
The symptoms indicate a bad tcon. The intermittent vertical lines across the full screen indicate it's not a bad panel.Four year old LCD TV first started showing problems with intermittent vertical lines across the entire screen; of varying number, width, and color. Now it turns on and stays on, but there is no picture, not even for a second; does not matter what source. Even the menu items do not display. The audio is fine and the backlight is on.
I replaced a bulging 470uF, 25V cap.
24VDC checked going to the inverter board.
5.4, 12, and 13VDC look good going to the main board.
LVDS cable and end connections appear okay. Contacts cleaned.
Fuse F1 on the Tcon board is good.
Is there any thing else, fairly easy to check, to narrow down the problem? I do have access to an O-scope from work, but do not have a lot of money to throw around. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

by IerwinHello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged... -
by TR103Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
- sound and backlight, but no picture
- when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
- it keeps rebooting
- without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
- when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered... -
by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and... -
by gl4709I am working on a Samsung un55cu7000d which has backlights and audio. There is no picture. This model does NOT have a separate TCON board. Before I order a main board I would like to try and confirm that the issue is not in the display. The ribbon cable from the main board goes directly to the display and I can then disconnect the left from the right. When I disconnect the right side the display lights up on one side but has no video being displayed. Can you all give me some guidance on how to confirm the main board is the issue.

by LaPCon_ITTV has one combo board (VTT55UH160). Symptoms are like this.
When part of the screen is disconnected (white part), it looks like this
Resistance and voltages (I don't know if they are good or not). The inductor with 0ohm/0V seems to be connected to GND.
I haven't noticed any shorts on rails listed below:
VGH - 30V
VGL- -9V
VAA - 14V
VCOM - 5.6V
STV - 11.95V
LC1, LC2 - +30/-12V
All CKV lines (no shorts between them) looks the same:
I've tried to cover some lines with...7 Photos12-15-2023, 03:55 AM - Loading...
