Re: Sanyo lcd-37xr9da picture negative, abnormal display
Ok, sorry.
Most of the sites here in Australia won't allow image uploads direct but must be hosted elsewhere. Something I find frustrating as my forum skills are probably not the best. I'll follow your advice for next time.
Thanks.

Welcome. If you are going to be a regular here, please do not post images inline for the following reasons

Instead, use the manage attachments button to upload the pictures so they are hosted here. They show up as thumbnails and then I can optionally click on each to get the fullscreen.Leave a comment:

Sanyo lcd-37xr9da picture negative, abnormal display
ok, I have a SANYO LCD 37XR9DA Full HD TV. It's actually manufactured by Xoceco and from I've seen parts seem to match the DYNEX brand LCDs.
The panel is an AUO (AU Optronics) panel and TCON board T370HW02 V7. BUILD Date of the TV is MAY 09.
Starts and works normally except the entire display is like a colour photo negative.
all inputs, same result.
If I plug the AV out to a Tv then the output is correct on the external TV so I'm thinking the main board is ok.
I've reseated and manipulated the LVDS cable at both the Main board & TCON board with no change.
reseated flat ribbon cables to the panel and no change either.
In service mode, white, red, green, blue and black test patterns appear good.
the pop-up menu appears ok and sharp enough although I think the colour is slightly wrong. Pure black or white displays ok.
The AS15-F LCD driver chip is getting too hot to touch and the AUO-043 chip also gets pretty warm with signs of discolouration of the markings.
Something else I notice is there are no heatpads attached to the chips. There's are V402 board I've seen which appears identical to the V7 which does have pads attached to all the major chips.
I'm wondering if this may have caused this board to fail, assuming mine is faulty which I'm yet to prove.
I'M THINKING IT'S THE TCON (AND HOPING)
Anyone have some experience with this kind of problem?
This is the TCON

Hi,
I have a VIZIO E70-E3.
Symptoms: Black screen, no picture, but LED backlights are working.
I probed the power board and voltages are as listed on the board.
Main board appears fine, too.
I believe the problem is either a bad T-CON board, or connection to LCD, or bad LCD.
There are two separate ribbon cables feeding the LCD.
If both are connected, the screen is black.
If only the ribbon cable that feeds the right side of the screen (when viewed from the front) is disconnected, the left side of the screen shows picture and... -

i have a samsung lcd tv
it powers on with sound and backlight but no picture
all voltages from PS are good 12v 3.3v and 5v
whats odd is that at the tcon i tested voltage across the fuse on the tcon and i get 0v
i figured main board issue..so i ordered a used main board....when i put replacement main board in i still have same issue
no 12v at the tcon fuse
i disconnect the panel ribbon cables to rule out any panel issues and i still have no 12v at the tcon fuse
the odds of having 2... -
by x_orange90_xJust bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

by Tr0llHi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.
The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.
Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.
First replacement T-con:
I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)... -
by JJAAMMThis was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.
Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode... - Loading...
