    Vizio VW26LHDTV20F Power Board Failure

I have a 26" Vizio LCD and have found blown parts and they are; the, what i am going to call a diode, but may be something else, in position Q1, Resistor in position R1, and another resistor in position R113 underneath the big electrolitic capacitor.

The board numbers are:9MN1261AFC0TN3LF, HIPRO HP-N1261A201 LF REV: 02, and 2007.11.07

It appears that either one of the resistors blew and took the diode with it, or the diode blew taking the resistor with it.

In the pictures, the tranformer and the diode heat sink are pulled out along with the burned out resistors. The circled area is the position of resistor R113.

I will be testing the fuses and transformer and replacing the diode and resistors

I will post back with the transformer readings.

My question is, what is the rating and type of resistor in posistion R113, because it is blown beyond recognition and should I be wary of other problems with the board after replacing these peices if the transformer isn't bad?

The Q component is a transistor, not a diode. This type of damage can be the result of a power surge, other components may also be damaged. As a rough guess, the parts you have found will cost less than $10, while replacement power supplies are available on eBay for under $50. The problem is identifying the values of the badly damaged parts, and locating any other parts that may also have been damaged.

Will the testing of the transformer be a logical step to finding the faulty componenets if not what else should i test?

R1 is fractured and the transistor is being order but i yet have to identify the value of the resistor in R113

Service manual of this set should tell you the value in a schematic. Other than that, I'd ask a seller of the board on ebay to check that value for you. I've had luck with that approach in the past.

I have the same problem with Vizio power suply board Model VW26lHDTV20f, Q1 is blown out. The value of R113 is 2k ohm. That is the one that is under the big cap. Now I would like to know where to purchase Q1. Since I tried my local electronic distributor it was not available, not in stock. The replacement for that is FS7Km-16A, also Nte 2960, all these items are not in stock. I tried to purchase the power supply board these also are not in stock. Any suggestion will be most appreicated. Thank you. Bob

I copied and pasted "FS7Km-16A" into ebay search and found 16 results. You should order it there if you can't find it cheaper.
