    LG LCD magenta vertical tint

    hello

    LG 32" lcd tv

i have uploaded 2 pictures, 1- showing when the background color is white or light the tint is fully visible and 2- when the bg is dark or black then the tint goes away...on a completely black screen the tint is not visible

i bought it like this because it was cheap and as i don't watch much tv i didn't mind changing it to 4:3, which does not cover the tinted area of the screen... the previous owner said it was like this for about a year...

i have some free time and i was wondering if this is fixable...anyone have any ideas?

    any help would be appreciated

Bad driver on the flex conductor in the LCD panel. Unrepairable unless you have the specialized (expensive) equipment.

      thanks for the reply

if possible can u please post a link so i can get a little more information about the flex conductor...

this lcd also has another problem: it is stuck in av2 input source, if the press the button on the remote to change video source there in no response/no menu...
the front panel on the lcd is also not functional so i cannot use it...could this be related to the flex conductor?

looks like the panel is going bad, although i would unplug and reconnect all connectors including the tcon cable.

the other issues, im willing to bet thats another issue. this set may ot be worth your time and money to fix...

Looking for Vertical IC for RCA Chassis CTC159L CRT
          by mopenstein
I'm working on my 27" RCA console TV built in 1990. It had some vertical rollover for a few months that went away after being powered on for a few minutes. I had been meaning to open it up and check it out but it had total vertical collapse before I could get to it.

Now that I have the time I opened it up and found a couple leaky capacitors around the vertical ic. So I figured the caps went bad and cooked the vertical IC.

I got the caps out and replacements on order. But when I took out the Vertical IC I saw that the chip numbers have been almost completely wiped...

          Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
          by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

Vizio M65Q7-H1 Red Vertical Strips fixed by tape blocking LC1 signal to half of the panel
          by howardc64
          Failure Symptom

No picture, just red vertical stripes. Google search shows quite common problem for these recent Vizio M series although red vertical stripe pattern may differ. Some call it "Netflix" boot screen haha.

          Where is the short?

Panel has 4x buffer boards. Quickly found the 1/4 panel buffer board with the problem by selectively disconnecting buffer board flex cables.

Having recently fixed another Vizio with similar symptoms that was a shorted ESD diode array ( link ) Probed the ESD diode array but...

Colorful LCD Vertical Lines on Samsung ue55es8090
          by Falki
Hello there, ive recently found an older 55inch Samsung SmartTV.
Sadly it has vertical lines at the left and one line in the middle-right.

I have already tested out the connections and have looked at the soldered ribbons of the LCD panel to see if some contacts got loose by pushing them a bit but with no success.
I have factory resetted the TV as well but also with no luck.

I am afraid that it is indeed a LCD Panel issue but there are NO scratches or any impact-marks..

A similar issue has been posted as well but also with no actual response ...

Samsung LC32HG70QQUXEN - vertical and horizontal stripes across the screen
          by kotel studios
          Hi,

Just now my Samsung LC32HG70QQUXEN monitor gave up on me. On cold boots I get many vertical stripes going across the screen (see the attached picture). After it runs for 1-2 minutes those go away but there are horizontal stripes going across the whole screen no matter of the input and PCs I use. (couldn't take an picture of it since the image size goes to 20MB and the camera doesn't pick them up)

In a video about a 27" monitor with an similar issue the guy removes one resistor and supposedly the entire monitor goes back to life? For sure this fix is only temporary....
