    Technika 15.4-310 HD ready TV

    Hi
Not sure if I am getting older rapidly or have missed some developments but I have purchased one of the above brand new but with a broken screen. The plan was to replace the screen with a 15.4" widecreen from another tv as I have done on several ocassions with similar faults.
However on opening this model I find there is no seperate backlight connection to the screen and I cant for the life of me find the inverter powering the screen backlights!! The cable to the screen is not simply the usual flat 16 pin connector but has two seperate rows of pins in one connector that the cable attaches to. I assume (!) that the backlight is either fed via the one cable or there is some sort of integrated inverter in the LCD panel itself. One last thing is that the panel is 13.5" wide by 7.75" deep which is not the convential 13" X8" i am used to.
Can anyone shed any light on this mystery for me? If not I will get some photos taken to show everyone I am not delusional! - and no before someone suggests it the inverter etc has not been removed as the tv has not been opened prior to myself doing it.
    Regards

Possibly a LED backlit panel. those don't need inverters like the CCFL backlit ones.
look for LED backlit LCD panels with the same resolution out of dead laptops on ebay or something..

With this only being a 15 inch screen everything is going to be tiny and integrated. I'd bet that it's a tiny inverter section integrated or it's own board. I have a question. Since this model says "HD Ready" does that mean that this does not have a DTV tuner?

"HD Ready" usually only means that it's capable of displaying 720p (1280x720)
(which is not a problem for this panel as it's 1280x800)

Thanks for the replies and a little further research has shown it is indeed a LED Backlit panel!.
Hmm so now my mix and match fixing needs to take that into account and not just the screen size. A single level of consistency would be too much to expect of manufacturers I suppose as they constantly try to bring in the next development.

The term "HD Ready" seems to confuse a lot of people, since some assume that it has a HD digital tuner.
