    dell 2000fp monitor

I could use some advice on what to do next in trouble shooting the dell 2000fp monitor.

symptoms: When power is applied I get a white flash on the screen and then it goes blank.

What I have done: I tried to get a response from the brightness or contrast buttons -- Nothing. I removed case and tried to find a obvious component failure or burned spot -- nothing. I checked the f1 fuse -- It checked good.

I am not sure where to go for the next step, help would be appreciated.

There is an older thread started on the monitor you're working on, and I think it might be similar problem as you have.
    This thread might help

Thank you I have looked at that thred and it is similar, infact it is what gave me a starting point. That said, I don't have the same symptomx and I don't have any obvious singns of component failue. I get a white flash for about 2 seconds and then nothing.

There are so many things that can cause what I think you may be talking about.
What are the LEDs doing on the front of the monitor?
Are you sure that the external power supply, can produce the amperage required for the monitor?

the video source diode is on and can be changed to select source and the main power supply diode is on and can be turned off and on. everytime the monitor is turned on you can see the white flash. The diodes are both green in color. what amperage should this monitor require? I'm not sure that it has the right power supply.

Please post some clear focused photos of the entire power supply, top and bottom, since power supplies from different companies were used on this model.

Thanks to you focusing my attention on the power I have discovered that the supply amperage is only .3 while the monitor requires 3.5. The voltage is correct.

Yep you need to get the correct power supply.
I have repaired two of these, and I was not happy with the picture the best way I can describe the problem is that it looks like I am looking through a screen door. I don't know if something else is wrong or it's just normal for this monitor.

Seeking Advice: Repairing Dell U3425WE Monitor with Faulty USB-C/Thunderbolt Ports
                        by Borse2008
                        Hi everyone,

Looking for some advice or opinions on what to do with a monitor issue I’ve run into. Apologies in advance is this crossovers a few forum categories.

I have a Dell U3425WE, which I've recently replaced with another model. That said, the original unit is still fully functional in terms of the display — it works perfectly over HDMI and DisplayPort. However, the USB-C and Thunderbolt 4 ports have stopped functioning correctly. The Issue:
                        • The 90W Thunderbolt 4 port (circled in the photo) no longer charges or powers any device, including laptops or MacBooks.
                        • There’s

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
                        by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

Guide me through repairing a Dell p2210f LCD ccfl backlight monitor
                        by DanPoka
I bought this p2210f dell monitor to fix. Schematic is the same as p2210.
Behaviour is that monitors comes on but then backlight switches off almost instantly. If I look with flashlight I can still find the "No signal message". So definitely a backlight issue. Trying to advance the issue I proved that the protection circuit is switching off the backlight by shorting out C3 and resistor to disable the INL chip then re enable by removing the short.
This is where it gets interesting. When I disassembled the monitor to solder leads on c3 capacitor I noticed the backlight flickered...

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

Issues Reviving Old Dell 2408WFPb Monitor
                        by Jesus Coder
                        Hello everyone,

I have been having some difficulties reviving an old Dell 2408WFPb PC monitor that I received for free. When I first acquired it, the backlights of the display were on but alas no image was showing. After extensive research on the topic, I went ahead and purchased a new t-con board for the monitor. After installing the board, I was then presented with a new screen that was half black and half green (more so black). I have been unable to figure out what to do next as I have limited knowledge of display electronics. Might anyone on this forum have an idea of what may...
