Hi and thanks for the admin for letting me be part of this forum.
I have a Digital Lifestyles LCD TV, model : LT26407. It doesn't turn on. When you connect the cable to the outlet, you can see that current is there because the standby red light is on, but when I hit the Power Button, the red light blinks to green for a fraction of a second, (goes back to red) and hear a realy click inside the TV.
I did a search on Google and found out that the problem is bad capacitors in the power supply. I removed the back of the TV and took a look at the power supply seeing that 7 CapXon capacitors ( 1000uF, 16V) are domed shaped on top of them. I measured them and according with the rule they are 10mm diam. x 20mm tall.
That site recommend to change them but a higher voltage ones because heatsink is pretty close.
I live in Puerto Rico, Caribbean Sea and ambient temperature is from 80-100 degrees F.
I did a search about caps characteristics and saw the good and bad capacitors manufacturers.
Taking into consideration ambient temperature and quality, should I stick with good brand name caps staying in the 16V or should I pay attention to the recommendation to replace them with higher voltage ones but cheapo brand names.
