    Need help with insignia NS-32lcd

A couple weeks ago my friend gave me his old tv. An Insignia NS-32LCD. At first when i recieved the tv it would not power on at all. So i ordered a new power supply for it. I installed the new power supply and now it turns on. The set has no audio or no backlight. I did the flashlight test and it works. NOw the wierd question i have for you now is can i swap out the working backlight form my poloriod FLM-323B just to try it in the insignia tv to see if it is the problem?
the backight inverters look almost identical. Thank you, Mike

If the backlight doesn't flash at all (even briefly), you could have an open fuse on the inverter board.

If the backlight does flash briefly, you could have a bad inverter transformer.

In any case, please post clear focused pictures of the inverter board using the manage attachments function. Please do not post inline as it slows everything down.

If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.

We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.

Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.

No audio is where I would focus if you have a picture with flashlight. Make sure you just have a backlight problem and not two problems. Try audio out with an amp( may help). As said above bad inverter would give you a flash of backlight or as Plainbill says 3 seconds to black.
I have had very few tvs with multiple problems except for tvs that other people have tried to repair.

Ok so its only been about 3 years. This tv has been sitting in the corner of my garage collecting dust. Finally pulled it out last week and researched your forum. To my surprise there have been a whole bunch of other people with all kinds of problems with this tv. After reading all the threads I came to the conclusion that i had a bad main board. I found a main board, factory refurbished on ebay for $20 so i thought i'd give it a try and it WORKED! This was after buying a $50 power supply, a $100 inverter board, Taking it to a local repair shop and paying $50 for them to tell me it had a bad screen and unit was not worth repairs. Needless to say i will never go back to that repair shop again.(crooks). After i tested the tv for a few days . Just to make sure it worked. I went to digikey and bought all replacement panasonic fm/fc capacitors just to make sure my tv was up to par . Couldn't be happier now i have a working tv that i was just gonna trash. Thank you to everyone on this site. I'd be lost without this site and the tv would have met the dump. Thank you , Mike.

Insignia NS-LCD019-09 issue: Power light turns blue for 3 seconds, the flashes red before going solid read again

Hello, I'm new to the group and to trying to repair a LCD TV. During the past few years, I've been collecting/repairing/restoring vintage personal computers (Commodore, Apple II, Atari, TRS-80, Texas Instruments, and Timex Sinclair). This has been my retirement hobby. Now I've gotten interested in trying to repair a LCD TV that I have and used regularly when working on vintage computers.

The LCD I'm working on is a Insignia NS-LCD019. I've downloaded the service manual that I could find, but it must be a different revision since not too many items in the service manual match the TV...

Insignia NS-LCD19-09 no standby LED; (new problem)
          by valvashon
Having a new problem with the 19" Insignia that I modified with one of my automatic turn on circuits. That is now completely disconnected so that is not the issue. I was doing some modifications on that circuitry and managed to short something out on the underside of the power board.
Actually found and bought the service manual (who knew it was even available?!) which brought me to the High Voltage Startup Circuit controller chip.
Looking up that chip number- LD7575APS brought me to the attached datasheet. I have marked my voltage readings on the schematic sheet (open in new...

          Insignia NS-32L430A11 backlight issue
          by arnard
I have a weird backlight issue on the above Insignia Plasma that I am coming up empty on researching.

The display is darker on the left than on the right side of the screen. It uses 4 U shaped plasma tubes. I have had it apart deep enough to tell you that the tubes are bright as they should be at the electrode ends but dim as they get to and go around the bend.

Since it is all 4 tubes it seems like it would be an inverter/backlight board but obviously can't be a blown up component as it does still somewhat work. I'm thinking low voltage but no idea where to go beyond...

Insignia NS-50DR620NA18 w/ large vertical lines & no picture
          by srs
I'm not sure what to do next and came here since y'all helped me fix a 50" plasma TV back in 2014, which is still working!

A friend gave me an Insignia NS-50DR620NA18 50" TV that suddenly developed large vertical lines on it. He said he had no idea what might have caused it and has replaced it with a larger TV. He was going to throw it away.

I did not notice any bulged or leaking caps on any board, the voltages produced by the power supply match the voltage that the pins are marked. The backlight leds are working. I have tried cleaning the ribbon cables...

          Insigna NS-50DR710NA17

Plug to AC, small blue power indicator light at center bottom illuminates. Only using flashlight test, Insignia emblem in center of screen for 90 seconds and then nothing. Power button pressed and still using flashlight screen test, the entire Roku, 4K menu is shown. Never does the back light show any light., even in dark room.
