    Philips Model 60PP9200D Convergence

Picture went green, then came back with ghosting and all out of wack. After fine tuning the convergence, I have regular picture with warping at top & bottom, and some on the sides. A little green ghosting at the sides.
After hours of reading, it seems that the IC convergence chips are at fault. this one has STK392-110 chips, I read where I can use SKT392-150 chips (suppose to be better chips)
bdent has the chips in a kit, along with some resistors that they say need replacing.
I took a peak in the back of this thing, didn't see any caps that looked bad, found the chips at the heatsinks, just wondering if anyone had dealing with one of these, am I on the right track?
Any futher tips or advice apprecaited.

I know this is a rear projection TV, but come on, no help at all.
This TV belongs to my son, and the picture is good enough that he doesn't want to atempt this DIY repair until after the superbowl. I'm ordering the convergence chips and replacing them & see what happens.
    I"ll get back with results.

bad STK ICs. they need replaced. they are on the LSB board.

Also check the CRT coolant. it does go bad. and cause a hazy/foggy picture on these sets.

Thanks for the info. Plans are, to get the board out of this thing this weekend and replace ICs. The kit came with some different resistors, I will replace any matches I see for them.
I"ll post back results, and get some pictures of it while it's out.

test them before replacing them on the resistors.

because changing resistors that are good with new ones, will do more harm than good, because youll be sitting there for hours getting the convergence back right again...

Any resistors that are totally out of wack will need replaced, but any resistor that registers good need left alone.

Found two bad resistors. Replaced them and the STKs and all seems to be fine. Took some time to get convergence adjusted, but a great picture.
            Thanks.

Best place to source RAM chips? 8GB 820-00850 boards to 16GB or 32GB
              by ugamazing
I'm looking to upgrade several 8GB 820-00850 boards to 16GB or 32GB for personal use. I am curious what the best practice and process is for sourcing new replacement chips, and what vendor(s) you guys prefer? Another question is, how do I find compatible chips and their corresponding part/model numbers? For example, in the 820-00850 schematic, the DDR chip U2600 model listed (EDFB232A1MA) corresponds to 1x32GB chip. Of course, I would need 4x8GB chips to replace the 4x2GB chips currently on the board. How do I find compatible 8GB chips? Is it as simple as searching "BGA178 8GB 2133"...

WSON8 NEW Bios Chips READ, ERROR, ETC.
              by feherhollo
              Hi,
I asking for help on some new WSON8 256MB chips. Please share your experience. I faced error on some new chips on read, erase, write with different programmers. These new chips are not exist in any programmers database. (GD25B256D, XM25RH256, W25Q256JV so on.)
              I'm using RT809F V.5.0, EZP2023 Pro, CH341A Green

For the exact experience with GD25B256DYIG is RT809F erase the chip under 33sec. This kind of 256MB chip normal erase time is 70-120sec so I think not all the partitions are erased. If I do blank check or reread the buffer says FFFFFF but when I write the correct...

Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo
              by G33RT
Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo, it does not reboot it just stays on the logo.

It does power up when pressing the power button.

I already try the power button while plugin the plug with no result.
Also put the latest firmware autorun-TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000.upg on a MBR/FAT32 USB stick at USB port2 with no result either.

Could this be an PSU or eMMC issue ?

[RoG Ally] Fault in one of the onboard RAM chips. Any way to diagnose which?
              by Prott
              Hello dear badcappers!

The title pretty much says it all - do you, please, know if there's any way to troubleshoot which of the integrated RAM chips (LPDDR5X in this case) is faulty?

              Backstory:
After replacing the 4 onboard (soldered) memory chips on a RoG Ally (4x4 GB to 4x8 GB) it got stuck on the RoG logo. I assume one of the chips is either not soldered properly or faulty. However after reflowing and replacing bunch of them I am still stuck at the same place.

If there is a way to narrow down which memory module is faulty it would make my life much...

Philips curling iron - is this a common AC cable?
              by double_DD
              Hi all,

Wife has 2 Philips hair curling irons half defective - after learning how they're supposed to work and testing them, it turned out that both have defective power cables, and both on the same place; broken wires due to wire bending.
As they were both relatively easy to disassemble, and cables are plugged not soldered (as they can rotate in the handle), I was sure it would be easy to find replacements. But - NO! I'm unable to find anything similar on ebay or Aliexpress.

Not sure if this is something Philips proprietary, or a standard, but the cable plug...
