After replacing it, still nothing....until I came across another cap on the Y-Sustain Board. This one I noticed is bulging also but it seems to be leaking from the bottom and running down the PCB as you can see in the blurry picture, I circled the cap in question in yellow. Can someone please tell me how to take this board out? I removed the screws and cables but something is still holding it down tight. Could it be the large heatsinks? Are they attatched from the bottom side? If so how do I get those off without having to take everything apart just to get to them? Plus would a bad cap on the Y-Sustain board cause no power at all?
Still no answers on how to remove the Y-Sustain board? There is something other than the screws holding it down.

Well I was given one of these TVs and fist it did nothing... I had a blown fuse after replacing the fuse i got the blue power light on... then i noticed the ribbon and power wires disconnected to the left y-board... I found that same cap blown off the board and replaced it so far... I have seen another picture of the y-board and the transistor that has the blue resistor soldered to it wasn't there... however yours does as does mine... I am wondering if this is a factory flaw/repair on certain models... however Bills diadosis seems to be on the right track to me... there is a green fuse labeled f5005 that has a serious fluctuation in power and appears to be not passing that same signal to the other side with leads me to believe that bill is on the right track as to the ICs failing and causing the transistors failures....

As I mentioned in my previous post I noticed that your YSys board appeared to have a fix on it... as does mine with the same blown cap upon further investigation of the board I foundthat 2 resistors located just in front of the upper Buffer board were disconnected/desoldered from the YSys board... this is for some reason a bypass of some sort or signs of a repair in fact... these two resistor are r5028 & r5090 if anyone know the reason for this bypass/repair please let me know...

On aa side update note I removed the sound control that covers the lower half of the lower ybuffer board and found a chip with no heat sink and friend to a crisp...

Also he note that you reading should be around 500K ohms not around 4.xM ohms...

these sets suck. i have two phillips( same inside) and between the two and several ebay parts i was able to come up with ONE good set of buffer boards but have nto been able to repair either ysustain.

theres several guys on ebay who will rebuild your ysus and also test yoru buffers if you send them to him. thats the way to go i think. in my case its jsut not worth the expense and headache for such an old set.
