HP Inkjet printer main board bulging cap failure

Fixed a 10yo HP inkjet with a bulging cap on the digital computer power rails (1 to 5V). Unstable voltages causing these inkjets to not boot properly or crash quickly. Seems like more and more of these are showing up nearing the 10 year mark. Board design seem to look similar for many of these printers.

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?
    by cheeky2
I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

Brother MFC Inkjet Printer prints Unidirectional mode only?
    by smile
    Hello,

My friend brought his MFC-5895 for repair. Same problem "No ink in the ink tubes". Quick FIX when you have 3D printed parts.

But his printer has this problem of only printing in Unidirectional mode, else the text is blurry.

All service manual adjustment done and make no difference.

    timing strip is OK

See nozzle check is also out of alignment.

MacBook Pro late 2016 (820-00239) with multiple failure modes.
    by npielawski
I will just preface all this by saying that I have a fairly technical background but have never attempted SMD electronics diagnostics and repair before, I really like the idea and want to learn.

I have a MacBook Pro late 2016 that died maybe four years ago. Over the course of 30 seconds, it got slower and stuttered, until it froze for a second and died. No click from the trackpad anymore, nothing. I started getting interested in electronics repair and decided to give it a shot, so I opened it, removed the battery (one cell was puffy), took out the motherboard and experimented with...

LG 47LB5DF blown power supply board
    by cmlewis89
    Hi folks,

I'm new to this forum. So my trusty 17-year-old LG 47" LCD recently died. As I was booting it up, I heard a hum followed by a loud bang, sounds of pieces flying around, and loss of power to the unit. Inspecting the PSU, I saw two obvious problems: a blown thermistor (bang + flung pieces) and a visibly bulging main cap. Inspecting as many components as I could with my Fluke MM, I diagnosed that the following components on the "hot side" of the board were also bad: one of the 2 main MOSFETs, main 8A fuse, small cap (25V 47uF) connected to main caps, and a blown...
