I see you edited out the Panasonic FM and put in FR. AFAIK, FR is the new "series" and is equivalent to FM in terms of "performance" and "characteristics".

PS. Despite the ".ca" both companies ship their caps from the USA. So, Canadian customs, as per usual, might delay the package. And it is holiday season so it make take a bit longer to get it than "normal".

Ay! LOL Where are you located. I'm in Southern Ontario.

Well I went through Mouser. Cuz I have an account there already. It's hit and miss. So Didikey is next try. Mouser ships to me via USPS for $8.

        OK Caps round two!

BTW what does "low ESR" mean? At mouser I could just select "low ESR" but at DigiKey the filters are set up different.

ESR = equivalent series resistance (ohms). Some datasheets refer to it as impedance as well.

If mouser is $8 shipping and you have an account there, it might be easier for you to stick with mouser.

I suggest P12927-ND (Panasonic FM) for the 22uF 50V cap.

              2 1 P11232-ND CAP 47UF 35V ELECT FC RADIAL 0 0.37000 $0.37

For cap #6, Normally, I would suggest the 470uF 35V FM series (versus FC), but I see the FM has zero stock. So FC is a suitable choice.

Mouser has zero stock of the 470uF 35V FM as well. 21 week lead time!

Well that's it for Caps. Order is placed. I swapped out the 22uf as per your advice.

                  Stay tuned for update!

                    Re: LCD Not Working

I also checked United Chemi-con and Nichicon low ESR 470uF 35V caps and digikey also have none of them in stock. Badcaps.net doesn't sell 470uF 35V Rubycons.

Perhaps some big company needed a lot of 470uF 35V caps for an upcoming xmas product?

                      Progress !

OK I put in all the caps and put it together. Stood back and plugged her in ready to yank the plug.

Red light....pushed the power button.........green light, screen lit up. Buttttttttt then I tapped the "menu" button and nothing happened, same goes for the "source" button.

                      So now what???

Double check all your connections between the boards. These connectors can be fragile and may not be securely in place.

It would help if you could post an "overall picture" with everything connected (using manage attachments and not inline) so we can see the "big picture".

Then we need a close up picture of each individual board (including the power board with the new caps).

Wellllllllll.....the power supply is inside. Then you have to put the back on and then plug in the board that handles all the inputs. I grab a pic of the "input board" it's easy. And check the connections of course.

                          What a crappy design.

Hey guess what......Opened up the "input board" cover. The one cable that is a "zero insertion" type was not in all the way.....

I've got menus now. Just have to plug in a source and see what happens.

OK had some supper...plugged in my camera for a source and WALLA! It works. Just amazing.

You guys are great. So now I will attempt that Sharp for my buddy.

No, but maybe for the Sharp TV, badcaps.net might have all the caps necessary?
