LG G2 OLED - Main board replacement process

It's my first time posting here, so my apologies in advance if I am breaking any forum rules.

Does anyone know how to change the panel info in the service menu for an LG G2 OLED?

My G2 83 has had issues powering on since the day I purchased it. LG support sent a technician to my house that replaced the mainboard. This didn't fix the issue and created other problems.

After months of back and forth, LG has refunded the TV and I am now wondering if this is something that I could address myself. I have successfully replaced the power board causing the power on issue, and installed a new main board. The service menu lists the model as a strong starting with “KEY” , the panel as “08/50/0/00” which I understand means that it thinks that the TV has an A2 panel and the firmware as A.4.02.000.0.

Is there a way to update the panel info? Or will this be updated automatically if I enter the model and serial number in the service menu?

    Thank you.

Re: LG G2 OLED - Main board replacement process

      My apologies for being unclear.
      - The TV does not seem to get as bright as it did before the main board was swapped
      - I'm going to the in_start menu
      - The attached image that module 2 lists the panel as an 08/50/0/00, but my understanding is that it should be 08/50/1/04
      - I'm looking to understand the setup process for a new main board on an OLED. Do I need to enter the Model and serial number and then in_stop? or are there other values I need to enter to setup the mainboard correctly?
      - Please ignore the power on issue. It's fixed (I think).
Thank you so much for your time. I really appreciate it.

Re: LG G2 OLED - Main board replacement process

yours panel match. if your replacement main boards come from LG then need to match the serial no and model... but if the source of MB was from other used OLED set then no need to change..

i can see you have many in red color at the left side of the photos... if they are Keys.. this must be written as in the Original one.. to have full function

Thank you! I really appreciate it.

One last question, should I enter the model as "OLED83G2PUA" or "OLED83G2PUA.BUSYLJR"?

          Thx again

              Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?
              by jb_Bak
Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board
              CN6401
              Pin 01 NC
              Pin 02 NC
              Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
              Pin 04 "N/C"
              Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V
              Pin 06 "GND": N/C
              Pin 07 "AC_OFF"...

(SOLVED) - ONN 100012588 No Power, Then Rebooting After Main Board Change

Issue: No Power, Then Rebooting After Main Board Change

Short answer: replace main board and power board
Technical answer: replace main board and Q306 & Q307 on power board.

              Long answer:

TV wouldn't turn on. Power switch was fine which means the main board isn't processing the power on signal. Replaced main board. TV turns on now but randomly reboots. Bad main board? EEPROM? Tried to pull main board and got a shock touching the corner of the board. That's weird. C334 (450V 10uf) capacitor is still holding a high charge....

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
              by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              Assuming...

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?
              by cheeky2
I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue
              by Asraf Atb
              Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....
